A million people? Why no extra trains that day? No streets were closed. Why don’t you publish the Nazi comparisons and other vulgar signs that has pretend to speak for my brand of conservatism. Fact is, the crowd was a bunch of unemployed ignorants. My wife commented that she used to assume the the active faction of our party was being led by ethical types. We certainly were disabused of that notion last Saturday.

Actually, your assumption of the make of the crowd is absolutely incorrect. The police have confirmed the closed and snarled traffic. As far as the Nazi comparisons, why do they offend the liberals so much– the same drawings were done in Code Pink protests of George Bush, as well as making pictures of him as a monkey. I disagree with drawing a Hitler mustache on Obama, but I suggest you read the German history and Hitler’s rise to power– it does draw comparisons to Obama. Does that mean Obama is evil as Hitler, absolutely not. But it does show the Obama tendencies toward socialism.
I further believe, from the local gatherings I have attended, that some of those vulgar signs are actually being paraded by “baiters”, ACORN-types,….. of course, the media does not want to hear things like that.

“A million people?”
Sure looks like a bunch of folk to me Richard. Even if not one million, a very good showing. And this was on a Saturday, when the DC regulars aren’t working (I should post not in the “office”, because I’d suggest 2 out of 3 “workers” in DC aren’t needed). So ALL of these folks are there to protest peacefully. Did you hear, not one arrest? Pretty civil crowd also.
Richard continues:
“Why no extra trains that day?”
Again, it’s SATURDAY, not a work day in DC. How many people do you think draw a paycheck from the Government and “work” in DC? I’m thinking it’s pretty close to a million. Besides probably half of these folks were bussed in from different parts of the Country. I heard an add on a Cinncinnati radio station about a trip to DC to attend the event including bus, hotel, and meals for a pretty reasonable price. So a bunch of these people were brought to DC by bus, and did not take the local transit.
Then Richard comments this:
“No streets were closed.”
Well, ummmmmmm Richard, isn’t that picture on the thread a picture of a STREET? Seems to be closed to me, or at least the trafic is sure having a difficult time negotiating that street.
Richard makes this comment:
“Why don’t you publish the Nazi comparisons and other vulgar signs that has pretend to speak for my brand of conservatism.”
The “Nazi” comparisons are clearly meant to show the “charisma” of Hitler, and his rise to power. Obama has that same ability to get people to BELIEVE things that simeply have NO chance of happening.
To put it bluntly, Obama lies, and the people believe him, instead of actually doing some research to find out that what he is saying is a LIE (I’m tryin to get me one of them there “Resolutions” by calling Obama a LIAR, how am I doin? Do I have a chance? Do I get me a plaque or something to hang on the wall showing I got me a “Resolution”, or just a form letter?)
That’s EXACTLY how Hitler mesmerized the masses.
As far as the signs go, I agree with JAMES. If one million attended, and just “conservatively” lets say 1 in 3 have a sign, then that’s almost 334,000 signs. Out of that, how many you suggesting are “vulger”? I’m thinking, and we KNOW they have done stuff like this before; ie the Town Hall mettings, then I wouldn’t put past the supporters of Obamacare to “plant” some signs in the crowd.
Richard continues:
“Fact is, the crowd was a bunch of unemployed ignorants.”
Well Richard, how’d these “unemployed ignorants” hitchhiked to DC for the rally?
Seems to me that the Government must be paying pretty well for being “unemployed”, or most of these folks couldn’t afford to have gone to DC for the rally.
Richard then comments:
“My wife commented that she used to assume the the active faction of our party was being led by ethical types.”
You mean the MAJORITY of the Country? Middle Class white folks? THAT’S what your wife meant? Well let’s look over at the other side and see that they are also “led by ethical types” also.
Richard concludes with this:
“We certainly were disabused of that notion last Saturday.”
I’m not sure what you mean by this, but I’m glad you had your eyes opened. Welcome to the real world.
I’d also point out that there were blacks, and asians, and hispanics, and gays, and indians and europeans, and australians, and pretty much every other “ethical types” in the crowd and on the stage during the day.
The gathering was a group of concerned AMERICANS concerned at the way our Country has been going for the last 2 decades.
What’s wrong with that?
