The community is rallying support for this entrepreneur:

PLANO (CBSDFW.COM) –  Support came pouring in Thursday for a Collin County businessman offering customers a break on the price of an oil by asking them to quote a Bible verse.

Charlie Whittington said a woman was waiting for him when he opened his Plano shop Thursday morning, just to offer support.

He took phone calls from people in Oklahoma, Alabama and Florida, all from people supporting his discount idea.

“I really believe if you talk more positive stuff you get more positive things out of it,” he said Thursday. “I want to inspire people to look where they can do more.”

JAMES NOTE:  Many radio stations have contests, etc., where you have to know “The phrase that Pays”, etc., so this does not appear to be any different. So long as the rules of the use of the coupon are clear, it is a great idea, IMHO.

From Gateway Pundit:

Service Employees International Union (SEIU) member Steve Caddle of Houston, Texas has been caught registering 23,207 fake voters in Harris County alone due to the hard detective work of Catherine Engelbrecht and her “True the Vote” project.

This is one of the best examples of what good citizen activism inspired by Tea Party principles can do for their community.

Catherine Engelbrecht was sick and tired of the vote fraud perpetrated by unions and Democrats and set out to expose it herself. Along with many friends who donated their time, computers, and sweat, they’ve uncovered thousands upon thousands of illegal Democrat “voters” in Texas.

Topping the list: Collier County, Fla., which includes the city of Naples. Tax returns accounting for 15,150 people showed moves to Collier County from other parts of the country in 2008, the latest year for which IRS data is available. Their average reported income: $76,161 per person–equivalent to $304,644 for a family of four. Although slightly more taxpayers moved out of Collier County than into it, the departing residents’ average income came out to just $26,128 per person.

Households that moved to Collier County principally came from other parts of Florida, with Lee, Miami Dade, Broward, Palm Beach and Orange counties leading the list. Big northern cities also sent lots of migrants: Cook County, Ill. (home to Chicago); Oakland County, Mich. (near Detroit); and Suffolk County, N.Y. (on Long Island) each sent more than 100 people to Collier County during 2008.

In second place is Greene County, Ga., with a population of just 15,743 at the Census Bureau’s last estimate. The IRS data show that in 2008, 788 people moved to the county, about 75 miles east of Atlanta.

Rounding out the top five: Nassau County, Fla., near Jacksonville; Llano County, Texas, 70 miles northwest of Austin; and Walton County, Fla., 80 miles east of Pensacola.

The dominance of the list by Florida and Texas–the former has eight of the top 20 counties, the latter four– makes sense to Robert Shrum, manager of state affairs at the Tax Foundation in Washington, D.C., since neither state has an income tax. “If you’re a high-income earner, then that, from a tax perspective, is going to be a driving decider if you’re going to move to one of those two states,” Shrum says.

How much more will we allow OUR rights as citizens to be trampled in the name of political correctness?   Why are our children to be punished because the wearing of their own countries flag was considered disrespectful to the Mexican population displaying the flag of Mexico, and in the same breath expect those very students to BE disrespectful to their own flag by demanding that they be turned inside out?

Contrary to the belief of many Americans, Cinco de Mayo is not the celebration of Mexican independence, but rather the commemoration of the Battle of Puebla, when a Mexican army half the size of an army sent by Napoleon III to conquer Mexico, defeated and expelled the French.  Something for Mexicans to be proud of for sure, but NOT an American holiday.

We as a people recognize the right for other nationalities to honor their heritage and have private celebrations to recognize them.   You do not see the Canadian flags everywhere July 1st, in honor of Canadian Independence Day.   We do not have nationally recognized holidays for other nationalities in celebration of their freedom or independence.  Nor do you see these other nationalities rioting in our streets and burning our flag the way the Mexicans have been and continue to do.

Why is it considered disrespectful for an American to show their pride ANY day of the year, regardless of what celebration is taking place?  Disrespect is what the Mexicans do to our flag when they are here illegally, protesting in the streets, trampling on and burning the flag of the very country they are demanding recognition from.  Disrespect is when a Mexican does obtain their citizenship, and following the ceremony at which they just took their oath, they walk out onto the steps and wave a Mexican flag and cheer Viva La Mexico.  Before any of you go off claiming this does not happen, I was WITNESS to it, when I attended my brother-in-laws ceremony.

At no time in this country is it or should it be considered disrespectful to display and honor our flag.  The respectful thing to be done on Cinco de Mayo would be to fly their flag in conjunction with the flag of the country in which they now live.  In no way should OUR children be taught that showing pride in their flag at any time is disrespectful, and that they should shy away from wearing or displaying it because it might offend someone.   This is their country and if the other is offended, then they have the right to leave!

If you want to come to this country for all it has to offer, then that privilege comes with a responsibility.  I think it’s time everyone is reminded of the words of Theodore Roosevelt:

“In the first place we should insist that if the immigrant who comes here in good faith becomes an American and assimilates himself to us, he shall be treated on an exact equality with everyone else, for it is an outrage to discriminate against any such man because of creed, or birthplace, or origin. But this is predicated upon the man’s becoming in very fact an American and nothing but an American…There can be no divided allegiance here. Any man who says he is an American, but something else also, isn’t an American at all. We have room for but one flag, the American flag, and this excludes the red flag, which symbolizes all wars against liberty and civilization, just as much as it excludes any foreign flag of a nation to which we are hostile…We have room for but one language here, and that is the English language…and we have room for but one sole loyalty and that is a loyalty to the American people.”

We have watched the deterioration of our culture and heritage over the past several years.  At great expense to the American tax payer, we have watched the English language slowly being subverted, in order to remain politically correct and sympathetic to a population that is largely illegal.  Those who would deny this need only look at the rules for citizenship in this country.  You must have a working knowledge of our language in order to become a citizen or to obtain a visa.  Citizens and visa holders are LEGAL, therefore they have the ability to communicate in the language of their chosen country.  Those who do not wish to learn our language and conduct business in that language should return to their home land and their native tongue.  They should most certainly feel more comfortable.

We have watched these people tear, burn, trample, and otherwise disrespect out flag on any number of occasions, but to wear or wave our flag no matter what the occasion should NEVER be labeled disrespectful.  If our pride so offends them then let me show them the door, because they are NOT American and have no need or right to share in the benefits of this great nation.  You will NOT prevent me or my child from showing OUR pride at any time, in any place, or during ANY celebration.

At a time when so many, including this narcissistic President we are plagued with for another 2+ years, have so insulted this country in word and deed, my family and I will do whatever we must to defend the rights of those who are not willing to allow America to be further defamed.  If you are American, then you are only American.  If you are here illegally you have no right to make any demands on this country.  If you are so inclined, then please return to your own country and demand that YOUR government provide for you that which you expect the American people and the American government to do.  Then you will be free to celebrate whatever holiday you choose in whatever manner you so choose, and you won’t have to be worried about being offended by a host in the country you have entered illegally.

A state board of only 15 people will vote on whether to revise U.S. textbooks to omit references to Daniel Boone, Gen. George Patton, Nathan Hale, Columbus Day and Christmas.

The Texas State Board of Education will also vote on a proposal to substitute the term “American” with “global citizen.”

Mathew Staver, founder and chairman of Liberty Counsel, is warning Americans to speak up before only eight people, with a majority vote, have a chance to literally rewrite American history.

He appeared on the “Huckabee Show” to explain why the board’s vote matters to the rest of America. Staver said Texas and California are the two largest textbook purchasers in the nation.

“Whatever textbooks they select affect the rest of the country because publishers publish those kinds of books, and the rest of the country follows,” he said.

Perry: Obama ‘hell-bent’ on socialism

Texas GOP Gov. Rick Perry accused President Barack Obama on Wednesday of “punishing” Texas and being “hell-bent” on turning the United States into a socialist country. “this is an administration hell-bent toward taking American towards a socialist country. And we all don’t need to be afraid to say that because that’s what it is.”

The Tragedy at Fort Hood is now going to take on the nternational and religious overtones, as the name of the main suspect, who has been killed in the shootings, is a convert to Islam.

The suspect is said to be a Major in the US military, from the Virginia area, who was angry at his deployment orders.

The suspected gunman was identified by ABC News as Major Malik Nadal Hasan.

UPDATE: Maj. Hasan was NOT killed in the shooting, but was injured.  9:25pm

http://abcnews.go.com/WN/soldiers-killed-fort-hood-shooting/story?id=9007938

UPDATE: A Cousin of Maj. Hasan tells Shepard Smith of FOXNews that Hasan was excited when Obama was elected last year because “the war would be over quickly” and he would no longer have to worry about being deployed. He had grown increasingly displeased with the fact that the war effort was not being scaled back as he initially thought it would be under Obama.

This is a 100% true accounting of my experience at the Lloyd Doggett Town Hall meeting at Veterans Building, Austin, Texas, 8/6/09
 – Susan Prince
Just to set the scene:

I am a white woman, 67 years old, 5’2″ tall and weigh 115 pounds.  I am usually very healthy.

I was at the first Town Hall that Doggett gave, but didn’t have a sign; just my voice… and just yelled.  He called us (all senior citizens) “an angry mob”.

Today, I guess I was an Angry Mob of One.

At 3:15 p.m. when I arrived back at my home, I was still trembling and flushed from the heat and took my body temperature.  Normally my temp. is 97.8.  RIGHT NOW, it is the same degree that I was walking in for an hour and a half – 106 degrees Fahrenheit!!!  That translates into a heat stroke.   And my husband served our country, was terribly wounded and I couldn’t stand on federal property with my sign.

Without the firing of real bullets, Montana has taken the lead in challenging the Federal Government, and using GUNS as the weapon of choice!:

Montana fires a warning shot over states’ rights

HELENA, Mont. – Montana is trying to trigger a battle over gun control — and perhaps make a larger point about what many folks in this ruggedly independent state regard as a meddlesome federal government.

In a bill passed by the Legislature earlier this month, the state is asserting that guns manufactured in Montana and sold in Montana to people who intend to keep their weapons in Montana are exempt from federal gun registration, background check and dealer-licensing rules because no state lines are crossed.

That notion is all but certain to be tested in court.

The immediate effect of the law could be limited, since Montana is home to just a few specialty gun makers, known for high-end hunting rifles and replicas of Old West weapons, and because their out-of-state sales would automatically trigger federal control.

Still, much bigger prey lies in Montana’s sights: a legal showdown over how far the federal government’s regulatory authority extends.

“It’s a gun bill, but it’s another way of demonstrating the sovereignty of the state of Montana,” said Democratic Gov. Brian Schweitzer, who signed the bill.
