from The Blaze:

Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.) made a bold prediction about the remaining presidential elections in his lifetime during an interview with Glenn Beck that aired Thursday.

“I think Republicans will not win again in my lifetime … unless they become a new GOP, a new Republican Party,” Paul said evenly. “And it has to be a transformation. Not a little tweaking at the edges.”

Paul remained noncommittal about his own speculated presidential ambitions, but said he believes people “from both parties” would rally to a candidate that said “we just need to turn over on all this” and advocated issues like term limits, reading the bills, and single-purpose bills.

The senator expressed little interest in the formation of a third party.

“I think that … you can transform a party,” he maintained. “…I’ve worked for a third party candidate, a guy that was my dad. It’s very difficult. The laws are set against you.”

Imagine that… a third of a billion dollars saved if everyone in Congress followed the lead of Senator Rand Paul:

from Politico:

Sen. Rand Paul is taking his own message of fiscal conservatism to heart,  returning about 17 percent of his Senate office budget to the U.S. Treasury.

“It’s the only budget I control,” Paul (R-Ky.) said on Wednesday at a news  conference in Louisville, Ky., according to a Thursday report in The Courier-Journal, a Louisville-based  publication. “It’s not enough, but it’s a start.”

Paul, who is set to return $600,000 from his $3.5 million  office budget, has returned six-figure sums before.

The libertarian-leaning lawmaker said his office scrutinizes spending from  big-ticket items like travel, down to “computers, paper, ink cartridges.  Everything we buy,” the report said.

…… OK, Patdown…………….

Sen. Rand Paul told his communications director this morning he was being detained by TSA at the Nashville airport.

The Twitter account associated with Paul staffer Moira Bagley, @moirabagley, tweeted around 10 a.m., ET, “Just got a call from @senrandpaul. He’s currently being detained by TSA in Nashville.”

A TSA spokesman disputed that Paul was ever “detained.” But he was not granted access to the secure area of the airport when he tried to board a flight Monday morning.

The standoff was short-lived. By late morning, according to TSA, Paul had been booked on another flight and made it through the screening process.

Note: The Senator has since said that the TSA Agent “warned” him that if he attempted to “use his cellphone” they would give him the aforementioned patdown!

If the federal government can support abortion rights, why can’t it also support light bulb choice, Sen. Rand Paul asked Thursday morning.

And don’t even get him started about his toilet.

“Frankly, my toilets don’t work in my house, and I blame you and people like you who want to tell me what I can install in my house,” Paul said. He added, “I find it insulting.”

In 2008, more than half of the American voters became spellbound by the “charisma” of Sen. Barack Obama, and his message of “Hope and Change”. In the two years since his inauguration, we have seen, though many are still in denial about, that his “words” do not match his “actions”.

When Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky) addressed CPAC on February 11th, his words were those of REALITY, and he is putting his integrity behind them to force them into action.
