The creation of the Federal Department of Education is one of the biggest travesties in the American history. The schools in the USA are run by the states. The Local Governments license their teachers, approve the curriculum programs and manage the school system including buildings equipment, transportation, and food. Every problem and every question a mother or a student has can be answered on a State level. The school system is funded by state income, sale and property taxes. Federal government just sprinkles billions of dollars on the top of the education pie to spice it up a bit.

The intrusion of the Federal government in education began when Jimmy Carter created the Department of Education as a separate cabinet seat. Ronald Reagan tried to close the new bureaucratic monstrosity, but was stopped by the democrats running the House.

There is absolutely no need for Federal Department of Education. The Feds are trying to duplicate the State Education Board’s functions and that is costing the tax-payers billions of dollars.

All presidents after Reagan kept the Education Department going. We thought George W Bush pushed our spending limits with his “No child left behind” nonsense. If we only knew what Barack Obama had in mind for the education?

I am not sure which one poses a greater danger– Kevin Jennings and his agenda to promote homosexuality, or Chai Feldblum who supported the concept of alternative marriages, which include “queer couples to queer couples” for the joint raising of children.

EEOC Nominee Contested by Religious Conservatives

By Amanda Carpenter | Dec 15, 8:34 AM“Safe schools czar” Kevin Jennings isn’t the only Obama appointee getting an earful from religious conservatives.

Gay rights activist Chai Feldblum’s nomination to become a commissioner on the five-person Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) board is also vehemently opposed by family-values groups.

Her nomination was passed out of the Senate Health, Education, Labor and Pensions Committee last week and is now headed for a full Senate vote. Groups such as the Traditional Values Coalition, Focus on the Family, Liberty Counsel and Concerned Women for America are questioning things Ms. Feldblum, who is openly gay, has said in recent years about the usefulness of marriage and the way religious freedom is, in her view, at odds with sexual freedom.

One of the religious advocates’ biggest complaints is Ms. Feldblum’s support of a 2006 petition for Beyond Marriage, a group that advocates expanding the definition of marriage. “Marriage is not the only worthy form of family or relationship, and it should not be legally and economically privileged above all others,” the petition said.

The petition demanded that the government start recognizing nontraditional families, including “queer couples who decide to jointly create and raise a child with another queer person or couple, in two households” and “committed, loving households in which there is more than one conjugal partner.”

The latter statement prompted widespread criticism, leading the education committee’s Democratic chairman to bring it up in a hearing.

Ethical shortcomings mark Obama’s administration

Wednesday, 09 December 2009 00:00

Dear Editor:

A short time ago we celebrated Halloween with all the scary witches, ghosts and goblins. Now when you look at the Obama Administration with all the radicals and unethical personnel he has implemented to serve with him you must wonder if we won’t have Halloween every day for the next three years at least.

Let me list just a few and see if you will be as scared as I am as to where they might take us.

Safe schools czar Kevin Jennings failed to oppose homosexual man-boy relationships and who also believes that sexual orientation lessons should begin in kindergarten. Science czar John Holdren has written, without objection, that laws requiring compulsory abortion could be sustained under the existing Constitution.

Tom Daschle had to withdraw because of a failure to pay his taxes ($140,000 taxes and interest). He was Mr. Obama’s first nominee for secretary for Health and Human Services. The Senate eventually confirmed the president’s subsequent nominee to head HHS, Kathleen Sebelius, but only after she corrected three years of tax returns and paid $7,000 in back taxes for “unintentional errors.” Treasury secretary Timothy F. Geithner was confirmed only after extended questioning about irregularities in his tax records that surfaced during the nomination process. He is now trying to lead the U.S. economy out of its doldrums with — figuatively — one arm tied behind his back.

When Obama’s administration is manned by so many radicals with ethical shortcomings, I think it’s time to broadcast the dishonor roll so I’ll list a few more.

Van Jones. The president brought him into the White House to be the green jobs czar. Unfortunately, Mr. Jones has a radical left resume that includes support for the convicted cop killer Mumia Abu Jamal. He was forced to resign when the folks found out how far out there the man really is.

Carol Browner. Obama appointed her as director of the White House Office of Energy and Climate Change Policy. Formerly, Ms. Browner was a leader in the Commission for a Sustainable World Society, a group that calls for “global governance.” It is an arm of Socialist International organization.

Harold Koh. Mr. Koh is an advocate of the dangerous notion of “transnationalism,” which would elevate foreign law above the U.S. Constitution. He was barely approved to be the chief legal counsel for the State Department and has endorsed a “global regulatory” regime to outlaw firearms.

Ezekiel Emanuel. This key White House advisor on health policy has written that “allocation [of medical care] by age is not discrimination” and that “services provided to individuals who are irreversibly prevented from being or becoming participating citizens are not basic, and should not be guaranteed.”

Louis Butler. This new nominee for a federal district judgeship in Wisconsin is a proponent of the theory that manufacturers should be forced to pay damage awards in lawsuits even if there is no evidence that their products made anybody sick.

This list could go on and on for as we all know, in the beginning, there was the Rev. Jeremiah Wright, a fire-breathing Chicago preacher who believes America is a bad place. Obama was a friend and member of his church for 20 years. Is it any wonder Obama and these radical ideas are part of his very being?

Radical Catholic priest Michael Pfleger was also part of the Obama neighborhood gang. This is the guy who mocked Hillary Clinton, portraying her was a white woman of entitlement.

And of course we can’t forget Bill Ayers, an acquaintance of Obama’s in Chicago and whose kids attended the same school while Obama lived in Chicago. Ayers, a former member of the Weather Underground, is unrepentant to this day about the group’s violent activities back in the 1960s. He is also a bosom buddy of the dictator Hugo Chavez.

With a list like this, which is very minimal, I hope you can see why I feel we are going to have Halloween every day!

In 2007, GLSEN Director (and founder) Kevin Jennings was compensated to the tune of $273,000.00 For his compensation, he has forged a program that is not what he publicly states. Tolerance, acceptance of “alternative lifestyles”, schools addressing bullying and harassment for ANY reason.. these are commendable goals.

But within the program, the agenda of promoting homosexuality to impressionable children becomes quite apparent.

The website Big Government has posted the follow up to the story on what Massachusetts’ parents had called “fistgate”, with the story of “Fistgate II”. One of Massachusetts’ teachers recruited by the GLSEN for their worshops has said:

The teachers at Fistgate knew that the public would not approve what they were teaching to the children about graphic homosexual sex, one of the teachers revealed last week.
“[W]e flew sort of below the radar screen for a long time,” Margot Abels told Boston’s homosexual newspaper, Bay Windows.

She taught them sex because she thought she knew better than the parents what should be taught to the children. She says she had the support of state officials during her seven years at the state Department of Education.

We always knew that we were working in an area that in certain places was considered really controversial and we also knew that we were doing cutting edge work and that there are plenty of people that don’t support doing work with gay kids. But I think that we flew sort of below the radar screen for a long time and were able to, and had the complete support of our agency.

Take note of how this teacher acknowledges that she “knows better than parents”, or in other words, her view is more important than the parent role. (The teacher’s name is Margot Abbels)

After reviewing the story, I urge you to send the link to your Senator and Congressman…………………. this man’s roles in our children’s eduaction MUST END THIS WEEK!!

In a recent speech, Safe School czar Kevin Jennings’ boyfriend, Jeff Davis,  commented on Jennings past activities in a Gay group called ACT, and mentioned the fundraiser they held for Obama in their home. From Liberty Post:

Sen. Barack Obama waded deep into Clinton territory Thursday evening at a private LGBT fundraiser in New York City where the price of admission was $2,300 per person. Held at the apartment of GLSEN founder and executive director Kevin Jennings and his partner, Jeff Davis, the event drew about 125 people and raised $170,000. No press were admitted, but based on several accounts, attendees were struck by the Illinois senator’s candor as well as his fluency with LGBT issues.

Here is a photo taken as Obama spoke:

See Davis’ comments, and more of Jennings, at

Regardless of one’s thoughts or views on homosexuality, there is absolutely no justification for Kevin Jennings having any role in our government or any organization that affects the policies of educating our children.

from Gateway Pundit:

In 2000 GLSEN held an anniversary conference. From the content of the workshops it was clear that the organization was not so much about tolerance as it was about teaching children about sex. This conference was fully supported by the Massachusetts Department of Education, the Safe Schools Program, the Governor’s Commission on Gay & Lesbian Youth, and some of the presenters even received federal money.

In this clip one of the activists asks 14 year olds, “Spit or swallow?… Is it rude?”

The clip is from a lecture by Scott Whiteman from Mass Resistance. Scott attended the GLSEN conference on March 25, 2000 undercover. He recorded this clip at the GLSEN Conference.
Here is the full exchange:

Male Teacher: … Spit versus swallowing – I don’t know about the calorie count of cum. All right. Is it rude? Let’s ask this question: Is it rude not to swallow?

Students: No! Oh, no! [Many “no’s” from the children.]

Male Teacher: No. So it’s in good bedroom etiquette … [unclear] to spit out?

You just heard a public employee ask 14-year-olds if it was rude to spit rather than swallow during oral sex. Kevin Jennings who ran GLSEN is now Barack Obama’s Safe Schools Czar.

for full link:

The conference referenced above was privately funded, but employees of the Dept. of Education were the facilitators, and were paid by the State. This is a highly inappropriate use of tax dollars. If GLSEN receives any tax dollars for this agenda. Bullying, harassment, tolerance does not equate to the discussion of sexual acts with teenagers. This is why parents must take an active role in their child’s education.

Let’s be extremely clear here…. this is not about homosexuality. It is about what is deemed appropriate materials for school age children. Kevin Jennings should NOT be in a position of influence with regard to our children and their education:

Safe Schools Czar Kevin Jennings was the founder, and for many years, Executive Director of an organization called the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN). GLSEN started essentially as Jennings’ personal project and grew to become the culmination of his life’s work. And he was chosen by President Obama to be the nation’s Safe Schools Czar primarily because he had founded and led GLSEN (scroll for bio).

GLSEN’s stated mission is to empower gay youth in the schools and to stop harassment by other students. It encourages the formation of Gay Student Alliances and condemns the use of hateful words. GLSEN also strives to influence the educational curriculum to include materials which the group believes will increase tolerance of gay students and decrease bullying. To that end, GLSEN maintains a recommended reading list of books that it claims “furthers our mission to ensure safe schools for all students.” In other words, these are the books that GLSEN’s directors think all kids should be reading: gay kids should read them to raise their self-esteem, and straight kids should read them in order to become more aware and tolerant and stop bullying gay kids. Through GLSEN’s online ordering system, called “GLSEN BookLink,” featured prominently on their Web site, teachers can buy the books to use as required classroom assignments, or students can buy them to read on their own.

According to GLSEN’s own press releases from the period during which its recommended reading list was developed, the organization’s three areas of focus were creating “educational resources, public policy agenda, [and] student organizing programs”; in other words, the reading list (chief among its “educational resources”) was of prime importance in GLSEN’s efforts to influence the American educational system.

The list is divided into three main categories: books recommended for grades K-6; books recommended for grades 7-12; and books for teachers. (The books on the list span all genres: fiction, nonfiction, memoirs, even poetry.)

Out of curiosity to see exactly what kind of books Kevin Jennings and his organization think American students should be reading in school, our team chose a handful at random from the over 100 titles on GLSEN’s grades 7-12 list, and began reading through.

What we discovered shocked us. We were flabbergasted. Rendered speechless.

53 House Republicans call for ‘safe schools czar’ resignation

By Michael O’Brien and Molly K. Hooper – 10/15/09 07:19 PM ET

Fifty-three House Republicans have written President Barack Obama asking him to remove “safe schools czar” Kevin Jennings from that position.

The lawmakers accused Jennings of “pushing a pro-homosexual agenda” and said that Jennings’s past writings exhibit a record that makes him unfit for the position.

“We respectfully request that you remove Kevin Jennings, the Assistant Deputy Secretary for the Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools, from your administration,” the Republicans wrote. “It is clear that Mr. Jennings lacks the appropriate qualifications and ethical standards to serve in this capacity.”

From Byron York @ Washington Examiner:

Barack Obama is fighting a lot of political wars these days. The most important, of course, is the war over the war in Afghanistan. Then there’s the war over health care. And spending. And the environment. And financial regulation. And on and on.

They’re all serious and time consuming. But the war that has become unexpectedly intense in recent days isn’t about any particular policy. It’s the war over personnel — the president’s choices to fill important but not necessarily high-profile jobs in his administration.

Some of Obama’s choices have been people with radical pasts — or radical presents. Others are so overtly political that they can’t see any line between serving Obama and serving the public. The presence of each has made it increasingly difficult for their boss, the president, to present himself as a centrist.
