Arianna Huffington is being cast by some unpaid Huffington Post contributors as an unethical robber baron. With Huffington awash in funds from AOL’s $315 million purchase of the Huffington Post, contributors have called a strike to demand proper compensation.

The Huffington Post, established in 2005, emerged as a leading source of aggregated news content and liberal commentary written by unpaid contributors. With the success of the site, founder Arianna Huffington rocketed to national fame, frequently appearing as a guest on cable news programs.

LOL…Huff Post writers/bloggers wrote for free, now they’re ticked off about her HUGE windfall from the sale to AOL.

“Do they really think 6,000 slave writers will continue to write for free for an international conglomerate like AOL, which  pays their web writers, even if it is meager?”

     Throughout the weekend, the Left was on a rampage wondering who the spineless sap occupying the White House is. is furious, as are pundits like Bill Maher. They question where is the person that they elected.

     As Barack Obama spoke shortly before 7pm to outline the compromise that had been reached concerning the extension of the Bush tax cuts, the internet was on fire from MoveOn, Daily Kos, and many other liberal sites were attacking him.

      Jonah Goldberg, on FOXNews, said that he had received a twitter asking “Who will be the first Democrat to ask to see Obama’s birth certificate”.

     In the compromise, the Bush tax cuts will be extended for ALL for two years, as well as the extension of the tax breaks that were included in the $787 billion dollars stimulus package. The estate tax, which this year is zero, and was to go to 55% ($1 million dollar exclusion), has been negotiated to 35% (with a $5 million dollar exclusion). Additionally, the payroll tax will be lowered by 2% for the year, in an attempt to stimulate the economy with more $$$ in the hands of individuals and businesses. From their side, the GOP has agreed to the extension of unemployment compensation benefits for an additional 13 months….. now for THREE YEARS.

      Some are calling today’s Obama Drama his “Read My Lips” moment (Bush Sr), while others are saying it is his first positive volley for his 2012 Campaign with a “great stimulus” in the year leading toward the 2012 primaries. Will the hardcore Left base forgive him, or will tonight’s speech and compromise open the door to a primary challenger for Barack Obama?

     Joyce Kaufman is never one for mincing words, and she ardently supports her conservative positions, from immigration to entitlements and more. But the leftist furor that was evoked to have Juan Williams fired from NPR, and Andrew Brietbart uninvited from ABC’s Election night coverage, went into overdrive yesterday against Ms. Kaufman. A supporter and friend of Lt. Col. Allen West, Kaufman told her radio audience today that she had called West last night to withdraw from the position as his Chief of Staff, citing that she would not be a party to the “electronic lynching” that was occurring because West had chosen her:

“I will not be used in an electronic lynching by proxy,” she said, according to the Broward New Times, alluding to Supreme Court Justice’s Clarence Thomas’s complaint of facing a “high-tech lynching” at his confirmation hearing. (West, like Thomas, is black.)

Kaufman had found herself ensnared in controversy in the past for some of the statements she’d made on her radio show. On Tuesday, she called outgoing Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) “garbage.”

     West’s office also made the announcement that Kaufman would not be joining his team, but, citing their friendship, he said that he would always seek her counsel. Note to West’s Chief of Staff: Joyce will be the “shadow” Chief of Staff.

     In the few hours that she was to be the Chief of Staff, Joyce’s views and comments became a groundswell on the internet, and was being highlighted on shows like “Ed Schultz” on MSNBC.

“The Gods of the Copybook Headings”

by Rudyard Kipling (1919)

As I pass through my incarnations in every age and race,
I make my proper prostrations to the Gods of the Market Place.
Peering through reverent fingers I watch them flourish and fall,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings, I notice, outlast them all.

We were living in trees when they met us. They showed us each in turn
That Water would certainly wet us, as Fire would certainly burn:
But we found them lacking in Uplift, Vision and Breadth of Mind,
So we left them to teach the Gorillas while we followed the March of Mankind.

We moved as the Spirit listed. They never altered their pace,
Being neither cloud nor wind-borne like the Gods of the Market Place;
But they always caught up with our progress, and presently word would come
That a tribe had been wiped off its icefield, or the lights had gone out in Rome.

With the Hopes that our World is built on they were utterly out of touch,
They denied that the Moon was Stilton; they denied she was even Dutch;
They denied that Wishes were Horses; they denied that a Pig had Wings;
So we worshipped the Gods of the Market Who promised these beautiful things.

When the Cambrian measures were forming, They promised perpetual peace.
They swore, if we gave them our weapons, that the wars of the tribes would cease.
But when we disarmed They sold us and delivered us bound to our foe,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: “Stick to the Devil you know.

On the first Feminian Sandstones we were promised the Fuller Life
(Which started by loving our neighbour and ended by loving his wife)
Till our women had no more children and the men lost reason and faith,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: “The Wages of Sin is Death.”

In the Carboniferous Epoch we were promised abundance for all,
By robbing selected Peter to pay for collective Paul;
But, though we had plenty of money, there was nothing our money could buy,
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings said: “If you don’t work you die.”

Then the Gods of the Market tumbled, and their smooth-tongued wizards withdrew
And the hearts of the meanest were humbled and began to believe it was true
That All is not Gold that Glitters, and Two and Two make Four—
And the Gods of the Copybook Headings limped up to explain it once more.

     .     .     .     .     .     .     .     .     .     .     .     .     .     .     .     .     .     .

As it will be in the future, it was at the birth of Man—
There are only four things certain since Social Progress began:—
That the Dog returns to his Vomit and the Sow returns to her Mire,
And the burnt Fool’s bandaged finger goes wabbling back to the Fire;

And that after this is accomplished, and the brave new world begins
When all men are paid for existing and no man must pay for his sins,
As surely as Water will wet us, as surely as Fire will bum,
The Gods of the Copybook Headings with terror and slaughter return!

Today, author Glen Beck released a novel, The Overton Window, and his enemies went crazy over the trailer he used…………….. sadly, they had never heard of the Nobel Prize winner Rudyard Kipling or this poem which was the trailer they were screaming about.

The far left is now parroting the Tea Party movement, but the Dems have made a mistake in the way they’ve responded to them.

Huffington, a major player on the activist left, went on: “It’s really important that Democrats do not just vote for the Democratic candidate. Remember the Club for Growth, on the right, did that by actually picking candidates that shared their views, on the free market and taxation, and they made a big difference in what other candidates espoused.”

“The establishment GOP has been facing down a similar animal on the right with the Tea Partiers and has largely embraced it, not mocked it as the White House political team has chosen to do to their formerly most loyal supporters.”

      For Arianna Huffington to criticize Sarah Palin for appearing to refer to “notes written on her hand” during the “Q & A” part of her address to the Tea Party Convention shows exactly how much the left liberals fear Sarah Palin’s influence on American politics.

     Here is a close-up of Palin’s hand, during the speech:

Now, without putting my glasses on, I think the first note is either “ENERGY” or “ECONOMY”. I cannot make out the second note.

But the last two lines sum up her goal for her speech:

                “ LIFT AMERICAN SPIRIT”

     Does that say it all !!!???  What now Arianna??

The guys at Hillbuzz say the attacks are coming worse than ever seen.

We’ve never seen the Left so unhinged, not in all of our lives.”

Troll attacks are at their highest — even worse than in the heat of the primary battle in 2008, when Dr. Utopia’s supporters smashed one of our windows out (because it had a Hillary poster in it), with rocks that had the ubiquitous “O” stickers on them.”
