Fox News has obtained a three-page intelligence report showing that two days  before the deadly attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya, a statement incited  “sons of Egypt” to pressure America to release the so-called blind sheikh “even  if it requires burning the embassy down with everyone in it.”

The web statement, apparently posted on Sept. 9, was in reference to the  embassy in Egypt. It preceded a throng of demonstrators breaching the U.S.  Embassy wall in Cairo, supposedly in protest over an anti-Islam film. Obama  administration officials claim that attackers in Libya then took their cue from  Cairo and seized the opportunity to attack the consulate in Benghazi.

Though the administration’s version of events is still evolving, the  three-page Department of Homeland Security intelligence report further  highlights potential threats that were being picked up before last week’s  attack.

The DHS report, released on Sept. 11, said an “unidentified user” on an  Arabic-language forum posted the statement “inciting Egyptians to target the  U.S. Embassy, indicating the U.S. Embassy shouldn’t remain in Egypt” until Omar  Abdel-Rahman, also known as the blind sheikh, is released. Abdel-Rahman, who  played a role in the 1993 World Trade Center bombing and other attacks, is  serving a life sentence in U.S. prison.

The DHS document described the source of the warning as “fairly  reliable.”

The Sept. 9 statement said “the time has come for a strong movement from you,  O sons of Egypt, to release the detained” sheikh. “Let your slogan be: No to the  American Embassy in Egypt until our detained sheikh is released.”

from Sarah Palin’s Facebook:

Apparently President Obama can’t see Egypt and Libya from his house. On the anniversary of the worst terrorist attacks ever perpetrated on America, our embassy in Cairo and our consulate in Benghazi were attacked by violent Islamic mobs. In Cairo, they scaled the walls of our embassy, destroyed our flag, and replaced it with a black Islamic banner. In Benghazi, the armed gunmen set fire to our consulate and killed an American staff member. The Islamic radicals claim that these attacks are in protest to some film criticizing Islam. In response to this, the U.S. embassy in Cairo issued a statement that was so outrageous many of us thought it must be a satire. The embassy actually apologized to the violent mob attacking us, and it even went so far as to chastise those who use free speech to “hurt the religious feelings of Muslims.” (Funny, the current administration has no problem hurting the “religious feelings” of Catholics.)

But where is the president’s statement about this? These countries represent his much touted “Arab Spring.” How’s that Arab Spring working out for us now? Have we received an apology yet from our “friends” in the Muslim Brotherhood for the assault on our embassy?

It’s about time our president stood up for America and condemned these Islamic extremists. I realize there must be a lot on his mind these days – what with our economy’s abysmal jobless numbers and Moody’s new warning about yet another downgrade to our nation’s credit rating due to the current administration’s failure to come up with a credible deficit reduction plan. And, of course, he has a busy schedule – with all those rounds of golf, softball interviews with the “Pimp with the Limp,” and fundraising dinners with his corporate cronies. But our nation’s security should be of utmost importance to our Commander-in-chief. America can’t afford any more “leading from behind” in such a dangerous world. We already know that President Obama likes to “speak softly” to our enemies. If he doesn’t have a “big stick” to carry, maybe it’s time for him to grow one.

“In the process many have formed some unusual bonds that reflect the singularly nonideological character of the Egyptian youth revolt, which encompasses liberals, socialists and members of the Muslim Brotherhood.”

“I like the Brotherhood most, and they like me,” said Sally Moore, a 32-year-old psychiatrist, a Coptic Christian and an avowed leftist and feminist of mixed Irish-Egyptian roots. “They always have a hidden agenda, we know, and you never know when power comes how they will behave. But they are very good with organizing, they are calling for a civil state just like everyone else, so let them have a political party just like everyone else — they will not win more than 10 percent, I think.”

“Islam Lotfi, a lawyer who is a leader of the Muslim Brotherhood Youth, said his group used to enlist others from the tiny leftist parties to stand with them in calling for civil liberties, to make their cause seem more universal. Many are now allies in the revolt, including Zyad el-Elaimy, a 30-year-old lawyer who was then the leader of a communist group.”

Exactly what Beck said and was ridiculed for, is now on the front page of the NYT.

As nightfall came across Cairo, word came to the angry protesters, on their 18th day, that Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak has officially resigned.

Reports earlier in the day had indicated that under the cover of night, Mubarak was shepherded out the country. These reports are unconfirmed. Update: It is being reported that Mubarak left the Presidential residence, and flew to his winter home.

At 1:30pm, Pres. Barack “Carter” Obama is expected to make a public statement about the ongoing process in Egypt. It should be noted that with Mabarak’s departure, the coming months will be volatile, and could have a major impact on our international relations.

UPDATE CAIRO:

The “Information” Minister has told Reuters that Hosni Mubarak will NOT step down after 30 years in power.

The military has warned the crowds that they WILL Fire if the crowds do not accept the decision of the powers that be!

The next chapter is unfolding, minute by minute, and the crowd is swelling.

Obama is clueless.  Totally clueless.  I am not talking a little out of step here.  I am talking the man has no idea what is going on around him.  This is not coming from me.  I am relaying it from some still around him on a regular basis.  These people are getting increasingly concerned over just how “out of it”, that is the phrase repeated to me, Obama has become.  His primary focus is now getting elected in ‘12.  Everything else has been given over to Jarrett and her group.  Everything. The president has no interest in policy.  None.  No interest in working legislation. None.  No interest in forging a specific agenda.  None.  He is being told what he needs to say and that is it.  That is the extent of his interest.  “Just make it look good.”  Exact words right there.  President Obama is obsessed 24/7 with just “looking good”.  If something goes well, he gets happy and outgoing.  If something makes him look badly, he lashes out and pouts.  The man is bouncing off both of those extremes even more now than he used to and it appears to be getting worse and worse. The word “manic” is being used more and more regarding his moods these days.

Something tells me that Chris Matthews has truly lost that “loving feeling”… no more “tingle down his leg”:

from the New York Times:

WASHINGTON — The Obama administration is discussing with Egyptian officials a proposal for President Hosni Mubarak to resign immediately, turning over power to a transitional government headed by Vice President Omar Suleiman with the support of the Egyptian military, administration officials and Arab diplomats said Thursday.

Even though Mr. Mubarak has balked, so far, at leaving now, officials from both governments are continuing talks about a plan in which, Mr. Suleiman, backed by Sami Enan, chief of the Egyptian armed forces, and Field Marshal Mohamed Tantawi

, the Defense Minister, would immediately begin a process of constitutional reform.

The proposal also calls for the transitional government to invite members from a broad range of opposition groups, including the banned Muslim Brotherhood, to begin work to open up the country’s electoral system in an effort to bring about free and fair elections in September, the officials said.

CNN’s Anderson Cooper said he and his crew were punched and kicked in Cairo on Wednesday by supporters of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, but that they escaped with just scratches as anti-government protests turned deadly.

The incident occurred as supporters of Mubarak rushed a crowd of his detractors, charging on horses and camels and wielding sticks and petrol bombs. The anti-Mubarak protesters fought back by throwing rocks at their attackers.

Cooper told Reuters in a phone interview from Egypt that he and his CNN crew were walking through a crowd of Mubarak supporters heading toward the melee, when a man tried to grab their camera.

Members of the crowd punched and kicked Cooper in the head and body, and set upon the rest of the crew, including female producer Maryanne Fox, he said.

Just Briefed By VERY Senior Retired CIA Officer. “Egypt Is Possible/Probable Disaster For US”
Old proven source | Friends and Fiends

Posted on Friday, January 28, 2011 6:01:22 PM by MindBender26

As many of you know, am old network TV newsie. Just tapped former proven source, retired VERY senior CIA officer. No Hq paper-pusher type, he is the real deal, a highly successful very senior ME field operator. Retired as ES-4.

From an intel assesment stanspoint, he is a proven source, with access to information, extensive field work in the area, no reason to lie and has always given good data in past.

His assessment (in shorthand:)

1. If Egypt falls, disaster for US. Put succinctly; “the horse we bet all our life savings on may be about to drop dead in the backstretch.”

2. If Egypt gmvt falls, radical Muslim Brotherhood will be the new power, totally.

3. If Egypt falls, Jordan and Saudi are in trouble, but not necessarily gone. Even Syria is not safe.

4. Although Muslim Brotherhood would take over, the cause of revolt is not religion but the lack of jobs, horrible standard of living. Saudi and Jordan citizens have somewhat better conditions, so might be saved.

5. Egyptian Army is the absolute key. If Army stays local, Mubarak may be safe. If they falter, he is absolute toast.

6. Problem is, Army does not like Mubarak. They loved Sadat, he was one of them, but they do not like Hosni.

7. If Egypt falls, biggest winners are Iran and Russia. Iran becomes big kid on block. Russia desperately needs crude oil prices to go up to help economy. They prosper at $90 barrel crude. This could create $220, $250 a barrel crude oil prices

8. Big loser? Surprisingly not Israel. Just more enemies… who all know Israel will take war nuc if necessary to save self…. but due to US aid, Egyptian Army has great American equipment.

9. Biggest loser #2; Western Europe

10. Biggest loser #1; USA. Oil prices cripple economy. Even worse, word in every diplomatic circle becomes “See what happens to America’s friends.”

Bottom line; possible/probable disaster for US
