While at this hour we focus on the nearly three thousand lives lost in New York, Washington DC, and Pennsylvania, let us also pause to remember the four brave Americans who were attacked and killed on this date two years ago when our consulate in Benghazi, Libya was attacked.
Tommy Vietor is former spokesman for the White House National Security Council. He was in the White House, in the Situation Room, as the events of Benghazi unfolded. He was “in the loop” with Ben Rhodes on the “prepping” for Amb. Susan Rice’s infamous Sunday show circuit after Benghazi were the “video” became the narrative.
Last night, in light of the recent release of Ben Rhodes’ email regarding the Benghazi “talking points”, the 32 yr old Vietor appeared on FOX News “Special Report” for an interview with Bret Baier. He had done several networks throughout the day.
Vietor’s interview only added fuel to the growing idea that politics and not security ruled the night of September 11, 2012, and his comments reflect the immaturity that must run rampant in the Obama White House, even after nearly six years in office:
From Business Insider, The Week, and many others…..
Former White House National Security Council spokesman Tommy Vietor went on Fox News on Thursday, and after host Bret Baier grilled him over the issue of the talking points used after the attack, he finally responded with “Dude, this was like two years ago.”
Throughout the exchange, Vietor, who seemed annoyed at the line of questioning, wasn’t really able to answer Baier on various questions, telling him he “believes so” or that he didn’t remember.
“You don’t remember?” Baier asked, to which Vietor responded, “Dude, this was like two years ago. We’re still talking about the most mundane process … we’re talking about the process of editing talking points. That’s what bureaucrats do all day long.”
One thing that stands out glaringly is that on the night we “got bin Laden”, we know where and what the President was doing, and there are photos. How come no one at the White House can give any details of the President’s evening and actions as our Ambassador and 3 brave Americans were being sacrificed in Benghazi? Don’t their families deserve answers?
Now testimony by Gen. Carter Ham, head of AFRICOM at the time of attack, before the House Committee on Armed Services in June 2013 suggests that Defense officials did not raise the prospect of an out-of-control demonstration and immediately deemed the incident an attack.
Ham, whose partially redacted transcript was declassified by the House on Monday, said at the 2013 hearing that he was alerted to the incident 15 minutes after it erupted at 9:42 p.m. Libya Time (3:42 p.m. EST) on Sep. 11, 2012.
“When we saw a rocket-propelled grenade attack, what appeared to be pretty well aimed small arms fire — again, this is all coming second and third hand through unclassified, you know, commercial cellphones for the most part initially. To me, it started to become clear pretty quickly that this was certainly a terrorist attack and not just not something sporadic,” he stated.
It has been reported at sites such as Townhall.com that a majority of the Democrats on the House Committee investigating the Benghazi debacle left the room during yesterday’s hearings JUST AS THE families of the victims were about to speak. Pat Smith, mother of Sean Smith, and Chuck Woods, father of Tyrone Woods, were both able to address the committee, and express their feelings at the manner in whih their sons’ deaths have been handled by the US Government. Are these families not entitled to the FULL TRUTH as to how their loved one’s paid the ultimate sacrifice for this country?
I’ll take ‘phony scandal’ for a thousand, Alex: Jeopardy clue features Benghazi [photo]
The AP is reporting that Secretary of State Hillary Clinton has been admitted the New York Presbyterian Hospital with a blood clot. Mrs. Clinton suffered a concussion several weeks ago after fainting, presumably as a result of the dehydration she suffered from a stomach virus. The blood clot prompting today’s hospitalization is reportedly linked to the concussion.
The irony of Clinton’s recent health issues is that they have pushed her appearance on Capitol Hill to discuss the Benghazi fiasco to an unknown timeframe. Today just adds to the drama.
As the holidays and the New Year draw near, the rumors continue to swirl about the staffing changes in the Obama Administration.
The change that is drawing the most press is the possible appointment of Ambassador Susan Rice to be the next Secretary of State when Hillary Clinton leave the top-Diplomat post next month. Despite all of the controversy that she has created in light of her carrying the KoolAid for the White House in their alleged cover up of the Benghazi debacle, which left our Ambassador and three other brave heroes dead at the hands of TERRORISTS on the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, the White House seems willing to expend a great deal of political capital at the very beginning of the 2nd term in order to “reward” Ambassador Rice.
In light of what is known about Benghazi thus far, and the many unanswered questions, is Susan Rice the correct choice to fill Hillary’s spot?
