So, under the “ALAN COLMES” theory of democracy, if you challenge the President of the United States in the election process, and you LOSE that election, you forfeit your personal right to freedom of speech and expression!! And that applies EQUALLY to your wife of more than four decades!!

From his column in the Huffington Post, Alan Colmes writes:

Mitt Romney, rather than gracefully accepting defeat, continues to let us know he would have been a better president. Ann Romney, too, has expended energy bashing President Obama, ungraciously. Now comes a Wall Street Journal op-ed via Mitt Romney telling us what a failed leader the president is.

Colmes, for his liberal-biased part, feels that it is un-American for anyone, let alone Mitt and Ann Romney, to point out what is patently obvious to most of the rest of us, and apparently to Vladmir Putin and other world leaders, in that Barack Obama is a FAILED and WEAK PRESIDENT. History will eventually show that, to date, he is perhaps the WORST and WEAKEST President ever to sit in the Oval Office. (I’m sure Jimmy Carter is happy to have lived long enough to see someone “elevate” him from that role).

For the rest of Colmes’ column:

Talk show host Alan Colmes cites a tragic event in the Santorum’s life as a reason why voters will turn away from him……………………….

“Once they get a hold of the crazy things he’s said and done like taking his two-hour old baby who died right after childbirth home and played with it for a couple of hours so his other children would know that the child was real,” Democratic commentator Alan Colmes said on FOX News today.

“That’s a cheap shot, Alan. To say it’s crazy, something that’s that personal and hurtful as losing a child and to mock it like that is beyond the pale and beneath you,” Colmes’ conservative opponent Rich Lowry said after the personal attack.

“I even think some of the dastardly characters we have in the main stream media are not going to go as low as you just have Alan,” National Review editor Rick Lowry said later in the conversation.

On a side note:

Who are any of us to question or judge the personal reasons behind the decision that Rick Santorum and his wife, Karen, made at a very trying time in their life, in the lives of their other children, on how they would handle the loss of a child at childbirth. Additionally, the Santorum’s have faced additional challenges in the birth of their last child, who was born with a genetic disorder.

UPDATE: On FOXNews’ Hannity,  Rick Santorum said that Alan Colmes had called him after the broadcast to apologize to him and his wife for his insensitive remarks.

For those interested, Karen Santorum wrote a book about their son Gabriel, and their experience.

Katie Couric just doesn’t get it! Alan Colmes, who thinks asking Obama questions is “fully vetting” him, just doesn’t get it! I guess most of mainstream media, so in the tank for Obama, just don’t get it either.

While interviewing Gov. Sarah Palin, the Republican VP nominee, during this past few days, veteran news anchor Katie Couric asked the Alaskan Governor which magazines and news sources does she read on a regular basis to keep her informed. First, as a politician, if Gov. Palin said Newsweek and not USNews & World Report, she’d be bashed for citing one of the other.

But the Governor, instead opted to say that she got her news from various sources, and quipped that Alaska does have access to the East Coast media sources (paraphrased). Couric was not thrilled with Palin’s response, and today, several “media” sources have made this a headline. Couric’s question sort of inferred that our Alaskan citizens are so far in distance from the lower 48 that they obviously are not of the same intellect as the rest of us.

With a major economic crisis, a Presidential candidate who refuses to be fully vetted, the response to two hurricanes, and the massive energy concerns further inflaming the economic problems, is Gov. Palin’s response to what she likes to read truly “Headline” worthy?  Oops, that’s my headline too !

Note: I look forward to watching Katie Couric, and many others, eat crow after the debate tomorrow night!
