This would have to fall under the category of:
TOO LITTLE TOO LATE!
I would have preferred that the Catholic Church and all its subsidiaries had taken a stand before the 2008 election and the obamacare bill.
This wreaks of shutting the barn door after the horses ran out! I find it hypocritical. The church has taken a stand on imigration and is a sanctuary for people that come to this country ILLEGALLY and they don’t care. And it has nothing to do with Jesus either because Jesus said to render to ceasar the things that are ceasar’s and to God the things that are God’s. Our God would never condone or tell us to break a law.
You get in bed with the devil and you reap hell so I am not shedding any tears over where they find themselves now and I am not buying any of their pathetic luke warm stands that they are making on a Patriotic day.
If we ever get out of this mess which I doubt we will. It is going to be because we had a number of clear thinking patriots that don’t get caught up in glimpse’s of superficial patriotism in a whim of a moment.

I agree in part Gumply. As a Catholic, standing @ an immigration forum, I disagreed with the position of the Bishop’s representative in part. I believe that our churches and the community as a whole has a role in helping those who need help. But that does not include aiding and abetting criminals. And illegal immigrants are just that– they BROKE THE LAW !.

Regarding the obamacare bill the Catholic bishops were with him on it. I am not sure why the are throwing a tizzy fit over the contraception part of the bill, that is another piece of hypocrisy on their part. Let’s not kill a child in the womb however if a child is born with muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, spinal bifada, deaf, blind, deformed and the list goes on then it is ok to withhold medical services from them because they can not contribute to society, never mind doing away with the elderly. Why didn’t they throw a fit over the death panels????? I have two daughters that are doctors and one of them is married to a doctor. Death panels do exist and are already in effect.
Why should we be suprised as when the creep was a senator in Illinois he voted to let babies that survived an abortion to be left on the table or in a crib to just die with absolutely no medical help. The Catholic Church knew that and they didn’t care in fact something like 60% of catholics voted for him in 2008.
BTW I was raised a catholic went to catholic school and raised five children catholic until I finally couldn’t take the hypocrisy any longer and left the church in 1980. I was 45 years old. I then got involved in the CMA for about twenty years before God moved me out of it for the same reason. Floundered around for awhile in Charismatic Churches and then He took me out of that place too for the same reasons. I searched most of my life to find the God I read about in the Bible and He finally revealed Himself to me as He truly is. When you finally run into the TRUTH you really know what freedom is.

I believe the Church stood with him on ObamaCare on the principle that all should be able to get care. It is now, as Nancy Pelosi said, that we have passed it and get to see whats in it (or as they write the rules) that the problems begin to show.
