In the Palmetto state, as the Republican candidates try to build momentum for the “non-Romney” choice, former Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman is set to announce midday that he is withdrawing from the race, and will endorse the GOP frontrunner Mitt Romney. His announcement will come just hours before the next scheduled debate.

Many think that most of his supporters will go to Mitt Romney, while others believe they will spread out amongst the other remaining candidates. To slow the Romney train, one of the others would need a great showing in SC on the 21st, as well as in Florida on the 31st. The polls are not presently indicative of that, but polls are known to be wrong.
