A second judge in the Iranian judiciary signed off on the bail release of Shane Bauer and Josh Fattel, two of the American hikers arrested in Iran in 2009 after mistakenly crossing over the border into Iran. The third hiker, Sarah Shourd, had been released from custody last year.

The two hikers are now in the custody of the Oman diplomats, who arranged their bail, and it is expected that they will be reunited with their families shortly.

Iranian Pres, Mahmoud Ahmidinejad will be addressing the United Nations this week, and it is believed that the release of the hikers was timed in such a way as to give him some good PR while in NYC.
