I am not an economist, nor am I as old and experienced as the wise woman from San Francisco who serves as the Speaker of the House of Representatives. But I am having a hard time grasping the concepts that Speaker Nancy Pelosi was trying to explain regarding unemployment compensation, job creation, and the economy.

The Speaker stated that unemployment compensation is “good for the economy” because unemployment checks are “job creators”. The unemployment checks, with her analysis, fuel the economy. Perhaps I am viewing this in the wrong manner, because in my mind, I see this as a drain on the economy, a drain on state funds and federal funds, all of which are filled by the taxes of the businesses (that Obama loves to villify).
