from the NewYork Times:
Panini and Company Cafe normally sells sandwiches to tourists in Lower Manhattan and the residents nearby, but in recent days its owner, Stacey Tzortzatos, has also become something of a restroom monitor. Protesters from Occupy Wall Street, who are encamped in a nearby park, have been tromping in by the scores, and not because they are hungry.
Ms. Tzortzatos’s tolerance for the newcomers finally vanished when the sink was broken and fell to the floor. She installed a $200 lock on the bathroom to thwart nonpaying customers, angering the protesters.
“I’m looked at as the enemy of the people,” she said.

and because its PRIVATE PROPERTY, they do not need a permit from the City.

Ironically, the protesters don’t need a city permit to occupy private property. And so far, while the police have maintained a strong presence in the area, they have yet to try to remove the protesters. Brookfield, the NYPD and the office of Mayor Bloomberg have all declined to comment on exactly how things at Zuccotti Park are being handled.
“The good news,” according to Christopher Dunn, the associate legal director of New York Civil Liberties Union, “is that the police are taking a pretty accommodating approach to the park itself, and that has help avoid confrontation this far.”
What Brookfield has said is that the park rules are clearly posted. They ban tents or other structures, as well as the placement of tarps, sleeping bags or other coverings on the property.

CNBC’s Jim Cramer: Obama Hated by Business Like Carter
September 16, 2011 in Campaign 2008, Campaign 2010, Campaign 2012, Capitalism, Economy, Politics, Uncategorized | Tags: Barack Obama, CNBC, Jim Cramer, Jimmy Carter, Wall Street | 1 comment
CNBC’s Jim Cramer reported Friday morning on Squawk on the Street that he’s hearing from business leaders off-camera that Obama is hated by business leaders. “The disdain is off the charts! This guy, he is hated like Jimmy Carter!”
Cramer’s candid insight came after news from anchor Melissa Lee that there was a sadness about the economy from many traders and about how The Conference Board said there was a 45% chance of the US going into recession. “They say that since 1988, every time that The Conference Board predicted the chances were higher than 40%, we soon went into a downturn. I just throw that out there in the context of it looks like the support for the American Jobs Act is unraveling a bit from both sides of the aisle for that matter. Could the writing be on the wall for President Obama’s presidency?”
“Let’s take The Conference Board at face value. Let’s say that’s right,” Cramer responded, “I mean, look, you don’t understand, when you are off-camera, I mean — the disdain for this guy! I often find myself saying like Trump did: ‘Come on, it is America. He’s our President. Support him.’ The disdain is off the charts! This guy is just hated. Okay. He is hated like Jimmy Carter!”

The AP whitewashed reported:
Noisy protesters with signs took over two bank building lobbies on Thursday in a prelude to a Wall Street rally by workers and union leaders angry over lost jobs, the taxpayer-funded bailout of financial institutions and questionable lending practices by big banks.
Hours before the scheduled rally, more than 100 people entered a midtown Manhattan building housing JPMorgan Chase offices. They handed a bank executive a letter requesting a meeting with the CEO, and chanted “Bust up! Big banks!” and “People power!”
A half-hour later, they were calmly escorted outside by officers, who remained expressionless as the protesters chanted, “The police need a raise.”
They then walked a few blocks up Park Avenue and crowded into the lobby of the Seagram Building, where Wells Fargo and the bank it merged with in 2008, Wachovia, have offices.
The protesters held up signs reading, “Save Our Jobs” and “Save Our Homes.” One included a Great Depression-era photograph. Police arrived on horseback as curious office workers watched the scene unfold from their windows.
“We’re here today to stop the corporate greed that is ruining our neighborhoods,” said Andrea Goldman, 59, of Springfield, Mass., who’s part of a group called Alliance to Develop Power.
Andrea Goldman is a co-chair of the shakedown group – Alliance to Develop Power. The Alliance to Develop Power/ADP of Springfield, MA has been successful at reclaiming social and economic power through cooperative economic development, resulting in the creation of business and capital holdings collectively valued at over $50 million.
JWF added: “Of course as we predicted earlier today nowhere is it mentioned this “diverse mixture” was organized primarily by an Obama “economic adviser” and assorted Obama-supporting groups.”

The problem is not on Wall Street, it’s in Washington !!
1999 article about the pressure to create sub-prime mtgs for minorities and unqualified buyers.
“Fannie Mae, the nation’s biggest underwriter of home mortgages, has been under increasing pressure from the Clinton Administration to expand mortgage loans among low and moderate income people and felt pressure from stock holders to maintain its phenomenal growth in profits.”
