Can the Transportation Security Agency (TSA) pull you out of line without any rational reason, quiz you on where you are going and why? And if you choose not to answer, does that make you “hostile?” One newspaper writer from the Midwest found out the answers to those questions on Monday when he experienced the TSA’s new “chat-down” while waiting in line at airport security.

…… OK, Patdown…………….

Sen. Rand Paul told his communications director this morning he was being detained by TSA at the Nashville airport.

The Twitter account associated with Paul staffer Moira Bagley, @moirabagley, tweeted around 10 a.m., ET, “Just got a call from @senrandpaul. He’s currently being detained by TSA in Nashville.”

A TSA spokesman disputed that Paul was ever “detained.” But he was not granted access to the secure area of the airport when he tried to board a flight Monday morning.

The standoff was short-lived. By late morning, according to TSA, Paul had been booked on another flight and made it through the screening process.

Note: The Senator has since said that the TSA Agent “warned” him that if he attempted to “use his cellphone” they would give him the aforementioned patdown!

from Postemail:

Obama and his syndicate have now declared the usurpation of the State of Tennessee and its melding into the Obama government to be official.  After extensive testing to see how far employees of Obama’s perverse TSA (Transportation Security Administration) would go with their sexual groping of even small children, Obama has now seen that they will do virtually anything they are tasked to do and “The One” has judged them worthy of the questionable honor of checking for US citizens’ papers on US highways, buses, trains and wherever else the now official dictator-in-chief decides he wants to exhibit his power and control over the American people.

Tennessee–which is the scene of multiple unconstitutional test cases with its completely corrupt Monroe County–has been chosen as the State that will begin the official Obama Police State.  The former USA has now become either East Germany or the Stalinist USSR–take your pick.  And, this move by the Obama syndicate has nothing–whatsoever–to do with terrorists (unless you’re finally waking up to the fact that the Obama syndicate members ARE the terrorists).  It is, however, Obama pushing hard for the final forced submission of We-the-People into the US Slave State, which has now arrived with nary a whimper.

Mark Steyn: It’s all bumps, no road in Obamaville

    June 10, 2011|By MARK STEYN

This is Main Street, Obamaville: All bumps, no road. But shimmering on the distant horizon, beyond the shuttered diner and the foreclosed homes, is a state-of-the-art electric car, the new Fiat Mirage, that should be wheeling into town in a half-decade or so provided it can find somewhere to charge. “We will be able to look back and tell our children,” declared King Barack the Modest of his own candidacy in 2008, “this was the moment when the rise of the oceans began to slow.” Great news for the oceans! Meanwhile, back on dry land, a quarter of American mortgages are “underwater” – that’s to say, the home “owners” owe more than the joint is worth. In Harry Reid’s Nevada, it’s 63 per cent. Perhaps Obama’s Aquatic Bodies Water-Level Regulatory Authority, no doubt headed by Jamie Gorelick or Franklin Raines or some other Democrat worthy, could have its jurisdiction extended to the Nevada desert.

TSA security looks at people who complain about … TSA security

By Mike M. Ahlers and Jeanne Meserve, CNN

Washington (CNN) — Don’t like the way airport screeners are doing their job? You might not want to complain too much while standing in line.

Arrogant complaining about airport security is one indicator Transportation Security Administration officers consider when looking for possible criminals and terrorists, CNN has learned exclusively. And, when combined with other behavioral indicators, it could result in a traveler facing additional scrutiny.

CNN has obtained a list of roughly 70 “behavioral indicators” that TSA behavior detection officers use to identify potentially “high risk” passengers at the nation’s airports.

OMG…now they want “special” treatment from TSA!
We’ve had some incidents where TSA authorities think that congresspeople should be treated like everybody else,” he (Rep. Jim Clyburn D-SC) said.
“Well, the fact of the matter is, we are held to a higher standard in so many other areas, and I think we need to take a hard look at exactly how the TSA interact with members of Congress.”
HOW ABOUT WE LOOK AT HOW TSA INTERACTS WITH ALL AMERICANS!

    From the DailyCaller:

The young, male TSA officer walks slowly down the line of airline passengers waiting to clear security. He looks down at tickets, up at faces, then points to those whom he selects for additional screening. In a theoretically possible, albeit unlikely, random sample, when the officer reaches the end of the long queue, we find that every passenger he has chosen for further scrutiny is female.

As I watched this scene unfold at Washington, DC’s Reagan-National Airport recently, the moment that struck me most was when the officer looked down at my ticket and seemed about to pull me aside. But when he raised his eyes to see my face, he veered his blue-gloved finger, already in mid-air, toward the woman standing behind me.

I readily admit I do not know what was in that young man’s head, but the facts of the incident are straightforward: He appeared about to select me and, after he saw my face, opted for a female instead; further, everyone he picked was a woman.

Since the TSA stepped up its use of full-body x-ray scanners and invasive hand searches at America’s airports, almost every female traveler I know has at least one story of being scanned and/or patted down — and in some cases, they advise it happens every time they fly. Meanwhile, very few of the men I speak to report anything similar.

Note from JAMES: When travelling with a large group of family members about three months ago, all SIX of the females (which included several teenagers) in our group were flagged to the full body scan while every one of the males were waived through the standard security. This was just prior to the implementation of the “enhanced pat downs”; the TSA inspector denied that only women were being flagged, yet as we watched, they continued only sending women through the full body scan.

So which elected officials own stakes in full-body scanning machines now in more than 60 U.S. airports? And what are those individual investments worth?

We still can’t connect the dots to say that, because these Congressmen invested in these tech companies, than, ipso facto, those scanners were then put in place at airports across the country, now the subject of controversy.

But the Center for Responsive Politics says it’s done the legwork and after reviewing the most recent personal financial disclosure filings, found eight members of Congress — three Democrats and five Republicans – who owned at least $2,000 worth of stock in L-3 Communications, which is a government contractor purportedly involved in the full-body scanning machines.
The watchdog group says Sen. John Kerry (D-Mass.) owns the most stock in L-3 Communications — with a minimum investment of at least $500,000 and a maximum value of $1 million. Congressional financial disclosure forms allow Congressmen to report their assets in broad ranges.

However, that L-3 Communications stock is owned by his wife, Teresa Heinz, the Center says.

It also says that Republican Reps. Michael Castle (R-Del.) and Michael McCaul (R-Texas) “both disclosed possessing between $16,002 and $65,000 worth of L-3 Communications stock in 2009.”
