A Great Day: America being America

The Navy Seals were dropped onto the USS Bainbridge; the President had authorized military force for the rescue of Capt. Richard Phillips, from his pirate captors; the National Security advisors non-stop intelligence monitoring.
And as Easter Sunday masses and services were celebrated across our Nation, word was released that everything had come together, and our snipers took out the pirates, and the Captain of the Maersk-Alabama cargo ship was quickly rescued and wisked to the USS Bainbridge. As the snow fell this Easter morning and afternoon in the small hometown of the captain in Underhill Vermont, true Americana was on display for all of the world to see. The faith of a family and a company was tested, and triumphed.
After our President spent a week on his “Tour of Contrition 2009″ issuing apologies we gave him no license to extend. the power of our Military was able to overshadow whatever dammage Obama’s words had done.
Easter is a day of celebration of the miracles of our faith, and for the family of Captain Phillips, this will truly be a day of their faith in miracles.

Its Not the “Americans” who are “Arrogant, Dismissive, even Derisive”: It is our Elected Officials

Barack Obama, Sen. Harry Reid, Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Tour of Contrition 2009 | 2 comments
On his whirlwind European “Tour of Contrition 2009“, our new President, the man elected under the ruse of “Change we Can Believe In!” and “Hope” made it a point, on more than one occasion, to state that American’s are “Arrogant, Dismissive, even Derisive”. Yes, Barack Obama also chastised the Europeans for “some” of their anti-Americanism, but for the most part, his tour was designed solely to apologize for Americans, and to attempt to relinquish our role as the world leader.
During the months since the TARP bailouts were first proposed, and the financial tremors were ringing through the canyons of wall Street, it has become abundantly clear that it is NOT the American people who are Arrogant. It is not the American people who are dismissive. And it is not the populace of America that are derisive. To the contrary, it is our ELECTED officials who are the Arrogant Americans, the Dismissive Americans, the Derisive Americans.
Regardless of what Nancy Pelosi or Harry Reid may say, if you can get a Congressional aide to be straightforward with you, you will find that the emails, faxes, and phone calls to their offices were OVERWHELMINGLY AGAINST the TARP program, the bailouts. And yet, our Elected officials, in their omnipotent wisdom, said that the populace is ignorant…. We know better. Let me ask this: Has Barney Frank EVER run a business, operated a bank, written a business plan? I think not. Yet we entrust Bawny with legislating banking regualtions. Another question: What qualifies Charlie Rangel to write our tax code? He cannot even comply with it.
Several months later, as the P.O.R. team rammed the “”Stimulus” package down our throats, robbing our unborn grandchildren and great-grandchildren with their MultiGenerational Theft Act, the calls, emails, and faxes again spoke out LOUDLY against the stimulus, but it had to be passed, it had to happen, and had to be immediate. So urgent was the package that no one read it, they passed it, and Obama went back to Chicago for a Valentine’s Dinner with his wife, and waited five days to sign it.
The Congress and the President are the arrogant Americans, ignoring the concensus of the people. Congress and the President are the dismissive Americans, dismissing the populace is ignorant. And Congress and the President are derisive Americans, by outright disregard for our Constitution, for our laws, for the American principle in general.
Now is the time that we should INSIST on TERM LIMITS for our Elected Officials. Now is the time that we MUST change their RETIREMENT PLAN, their PARTICIPATION in SOCIAL SECURITY.
It is time that our elected officals NOT BE CAREER POLITICIANS, but firemen, policemen, doctors (Rep. Paul and Sen. Frist), small business owners, scientists, teachers. Now is the time that our election process not cost millions and not be a popularity contest.
