Rep. Steve King: Obama’s Lawyer to “Erase” Obama-ACORN Ties

Newly appointed White House counsel Bob Bauer is “perfectly positioned to be tasked with erasing the tracks between Obama and ACORN,” one Republican lawmaker charged Friday.

The lawyer’s hiring, announced this morning shortly after Greg Craig officially resigned the post, was also an attempt by the White House to deflect any fallout that may arise from an ACORN investigation currently underway in Louisiana, Rep. Steve King (R-Iowa) added in a statement.

“Bob Bauer has a public record of defending Barack Obama’s relationship with ACORN, the congressman told supporters. “Bauer’s hiring appears to be a tactical maneuver to strategically defend the White House exactly one week after Louisiana Attorney General Buddy Caldwell raided ACORN’s national headquarters in New Orleans and seized paper records and computer hard drives that may lead to the White House.”

UK’s Telegraph: The White House will not Win the FOXNews Battle

     The missiles lobbed from the lawn of the White House by Communications Director Anita Dunn, and echoed by David Axelrod and Rahm Emanuel, at FOXNews, has not been lost on the international press. Nile Gardiner of the Telegraph writes:

As Anita Dunn, the Mao-quoting White House communications director put it in an interview with The New York Times:

“We’re going to treat them the way we would treat an opponent. As they are undertaking a war against Barack Obama and the White House, we don’t need to pretend that this is the way that legitimate news organizations behave.”

As Dunn’s statement illustrates, this is an overtly political campaign – and one that is doomed to failure, as it will ensure that even more Americans end up tuning in to Fox shows. The United States is a nation built around the principles of free speech, limited government, and free enterprise, and it is highly unusual for a US administration to launch an authoritarian vendetta against an individual news station. It smacks of mean-spiritedness as well as desperation, and is an approach that is already backfiring, with Fox’s ratings receiving an added boost from the huge publicity.

Fox News is succeeding in America precisely because it is not afraid to challenge the status quo, and to take on the power of big government. It is unique in broadcast media in going against the grain of the dominant liberal networks, NBC, CBS and ABC, by providing an alternative perspective in a nation where conservatives are still the largest ideological group according to Gallup. Television news in America has for decades been dominated by a left-of-centre oligopoly that has not reflected public opinion. That smug arrangement was shattered when Fox opened for business in the mid-1990s.

“Morning Joe” Says WH FOXNews Attacks are to Keep Other Media In Line

Here is video of MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough telling fellow panelists this morning that the White House War on Fox News is designed to play to their two bases – the far-Left and the Washington Press Corps. Scarborough said the White House hopes to keep other media outlets from following Fox News stories in the future – stories like ACORN, Van Jones, and now Anita Dunn. Fox News has led the way on all these stories, and the White House has seen other media eventually report on ACORN and Van Jones. They want that to stop.

I think Scarborough is right on target here.

Six Degrees of Obama Invades the Federal Courthouse in California

     There has been the game of six degrees of Kevin Bacon, where you can always show a link to actor Kevin Bacon within six steps. Glenn Beck used the same theory last week using Barack Obama in the place of Kevin Bacon.

     Today, the six degrees of Obama takes a slightly different turn, one that could cast a shadow over the inetgrity of the judicial process.

     Federal District Judge David Carter, who is hearing the case of Barnett v. Obama in the Southern District of California, has just allegedly hired a new law clerk one Siddharth Velamoor.

     Velamoor is an associate with the Seattle office of Perkins Coie LLP. This is the same law firm where President Obama’s DNC General Counsel, Robert Bauer, is a partner. Bauer has been referred to as the “birth certificate” czar, coordinating the legal efforts on the President’s behalf. Of course, Robert Bauer is married to Anita Dunn. Ms. Dunn, as we have seen this week, serves as the WH Communications Director, presently charged with being the “General” in the WH war with FOXNews. Ms. Dunn has also recently been shown on tape acknowledging that one of the two “political philosphers” that she turns to is Chairman Mao.

      Velamoor received his Juris Doctorate from Comenius University School of Law, in Bratislava, Slovakia, in 2008, according to the West Legal Directory, and Columbia University according to Lexis-Nexis’ Martindale.com. Velamoor was on the staff of the Columbia Journal of Environmental Law.

      Velamoor’s “six degrees ” to Obama takes a “memory lane” turn. It appears that Carter’s new law clerk, who was on the Dartmouth debate/forensics team, was also on the debate team in high school, in Mercer Island, WA. Mercer Island— the same high school where Stanley Ann Dunham graduated from before her father moved the family to Hawaii. Mercer Island is also the place where the young mother stopped, according to a high school friend, enroute home to Hawaii, with the infant Barack Obama in the Fall of 1961.

     Of all the law firms, of all the law associates, of all the applicants for a Federal Court clerkship, the Judge presiding over an Obama lawsuit hires a law clerk from the firm of one of Obama’s top legal advisors, who comes from the small town in Washington State where Obama’s mother went to high school!! Now that’s six degrees of Obama.
