From Politico:

“Either the Federal Reserve, which has its fingers on the pulse of every element  of the economy, and the Bureau of Labor Statistics manufacturing survey report  are grievously wrong or the number used to calculate the unemployment rate are  wrong, or worse manipulated,” Americans for Limited Government declared in a press release. “Given that these numbers  conveniently meet Obama’s campaign promises one month before the election, the  conclusions are obvious.”

Rick Santelli’s reaction:

With Mitt Romney have all but clinched the GOP nomination for POTUS, the talk has now turned to the “LIST” of potential candidates for the 2nd slot on the ticket. The names that have been fielded range from Marco Rubio to Paul Ryan (He has my endorsement, for what its worth).

But perhaps choosing a career politician is too expected, too much the norm, not enough to rally the masses to bring an “END TO THE ERROR” that was made in 2008.

       From the Daily Caller:

CNBC reporter Rick Santelli’s biggest fan couldn’t talk him into running for the White House.

But Jeff Kahn of the Draft Santelli for President effort admits he’s now on a new mission: creating some buzz in favor of presumptive GOP nominee Mitt Romney choosing Santelli as his running mate.

“Gov. Romney’s best, if not only, chance of defeating President Obama in November will be with non-politician Rick Santelli as his running mate,” Kahn said Friday.

He elaborated: “Rick Santelli complements Mitt Romney as a candidate. Choosing any career politician to run with him will not counter the voters’ concerns with Gov. Romney.”

“Rick’s populist appeal is broadly-based and includes, but is not limited to, traditional Republicans, conservatives, Tea Party members, independent voters, disenchanted former Obama supporters, and disenchanted with Congress, if not disenfranchised in general, Americans,” he said.

CNBC’s Rick Santelli: “If I broke my right arm, am I going to pick a fight with the neighbor? No. If I’m two months behind on my mortgage, am I going to go complain to the bank? Probably not. But let’s see, with gasoline approaching $5 a gallon, isn’t this just a supreme time to pick a war with the energy people that are bringing us what already seems to be in the market’s eyes in short supply? Just like picking fights with China when the world’s about ready to go into recession. There’s a time and a place for everything. And, by the way, all these profits Exxon’s making, the administration doesn’t like it. Well, what about Apple making a billion dollars a week, or Microsoft? I bet you if GM made a billion dollars a week, they wouldn’t mind. Come on!”

“I want this government to stop spending! Stop spending! Stop spending! Stop spending! STOP SPENDING! That’s what we want! Stop spending,” Rick Santelli yelled from the floor of the Chicago Board of Traders.

If it is “too complicated”, then why are we still pouring in BILLIONS??

On Feb. 19, 2009, one year ago tomorrow, Rick Santelli lost his temper while reporting from the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange. The CNBC reporter was angry about bailouts of businesses and homeowners.

His passionate free market rant spoke to many Americans equally distressed about the direction of the nation. The Tea Party movement was born.

Today the Business & Media Institute celebrates the anniversary of the the rant “heard round the world” and Santelli’s fervor for free market capitalism with a video.
