Although I despise the idea of the media telling us that Mitt Romney is the most electable candidate to unseat King Barack, if Mitt is to get the nomination in Tampa in August, who should he put on the ticket with him.

Mrs. James believes that Romney has made a promise to Gov. Chris Christie. We both think this would be a colossal mistake.

Of course, almost all of the pundits have annointed Florida’s junior Senator, Marco Rubio, to take the VP slot. A Tea Party favorite, and a Hispanic, Rubio could be a major force for a Romney ticket.

Then there is the idea of Virginia’s Governor Bob McDonnell.

While I cannot see Romney asking Ron Paul to be on his ticket, there is something intriguing in the idea of putting Rand Paul on the ticket. Could he bring over many of the supporters of his father?

Lastly, there is the idea of a Kennedy-Johnson team: Just as there was no big friendship between John Kennedy and Lyndon Johnson, the same could be said of Romney and Rick Perry….. but it could be an interesting ticket.

Mitt Romney has taken both Iowa and now New Hampshire.

Ron Paul has garnered the second spot, and Jon Hunstman will draw the third spot.

Romney’s troops are already acknowledging that the January 21st primary in South Carolina will be a battleground. Candidates such as Rick Perry and Rick Santorum believe they have a great appeal to the voters in the Palmetto State.

Herman Cain’s camp has not handled the sexual harassment allegation claims too well, but the media has placed that big target on his back. Tonight, his people are claiming that the story was leaked to Politico by Rick Perry’s team……………. a member of Perry’s staff worked on Cain’s Senate campaign.

The Washington Post is calling on the tabloid National Enquirer to do what it does best…… pay the victims enough to break their confidentiality agreement. Hhmmm… The Post wouldn’t “touch” the John Edwards “love child” story for more than a year, because, after all, the story was “tabloid fodder” from the Enquirer.

And no one is making any correlation to the man we elected two decades ago despite the fact that he REALLY DID SEXUALLY ASSAULT several women. And who can forget Monica Lewinsky?!

Are “settlements” or agreements with someone who has made an allegation of sexual harassment proof that something occurred. Anyone who has managed a business knows that there are some things that are done in the name of best interest of the business. It is not uncommon for a business to settle a dispute or claim, despite no wrongdoing, because it is sometimes cheaper to resolve it than to pay the attorney to defend it.

So Herman Cain is suffering from this scandal? He is, if raising $300,000 on Monday is suffering. He is, if being ahead of Mitt Romney, the GOP heir-apparent, by 10 points in yesterday’s South Carolina polls, is suffering.

I am not saying that Herman Cain is the man to take on the Empty Suit who now is at “Occupy White House”. It is simply that the American public has seen what the media did to us by choosing Obama and McCain in 2008, and they are not going to let them tell us that Romney is the “be all, end all” (even if he is, in the end, the next POTUS).

With the distinct possibility that the New Hamshire primaries could take place as early as DECEMBER 6th of THIS YEAR, new polls released today show Herman Cain has taken the front spot in the GOP race.

Both Public Policy Poll and the NBC/Wall Street Journal Poll showed siminlar results.

It is still early, and as I see it, it is going to be a bumpy ride, right up to election night 2012.

On October 1, the Washington Post published a story by reporter Stephanie McCrummenin which she noted that early in his political career, GOP presidential hopeful Rick Perry hosted lawmakers at a family hunting camp labeled near its entrance as “Niggerhead.” Castle Rock attorney Mike Robinson found the report full of dubious innuendo — so he decided to “use the same methodology she did” by investigating McCrummen and framing his findings in the most damning way possible.

The result was “Washington Post Staff Writer Who Wrote Rick Perry Attack Piece Has Criminal Past,” published on the conservative site RedState.com. (It’s also available via Examiner.com, which includes the Post photo of McCrummen seen here.) In the piece, he argues that while “a careful read of the story shows that there is no substantiation for the allegations of racism, Ms. McCrummen, the Post, and MSNBC have held a non-stop witch hunt, accusing Mr. Perry of everything under the sun. So, let’s examine the author using the same journalistic standards practiced by the Washington Post.”

Shortly thereafter, Robinson announces that “Ms. McCrummen has a rather interesting criminal history herself, as public criminal records in multiple states stretching across 4 time zones.” The first violation took place almost twenty years ago in North Carolina — writing a “hot check.” Then, circa 2005, “the apparently unrepentant Ms. McCrummen” was found guilty in Virginia of failing to obey a highway sign. The next year, also in Virginia, she was caught driving 46 miles per hour in a 25 mph zone. And finally, in August 2010, while in Arizona, she sped again and paid her fine two months late after being tracked down as part of a collection-review program. Thus, McCrummen is “a four-time loser in the states’ criminal courts.”

Does Robinson believe these infractions make McCrummen unsuitable to work as a reporter for a major national news organization. “Gosh, no,” he says from his Castle Rock office. “That’s normal stuff anybody would have on their record. I’ll bet I could go through your record, or anybody’s, and do guilt-by-association things just like that.

I’m still not convinced that Gov. Perry is the naswer yet, but this is a Great Ad about President ZERO:

Democratic strategist James Carville told me that the White House was in the wrong when it requested that the President address Congress on the same night and time as a Republican presidential debate.

“I do think this is a really big debate and I think the White House was out of bounds…in trying to schedule a speech during a debate,” Carville said on “GMA.”

This will be Gov. Rick Perry’s first debate, and as Carville said this morning the stakes are high.

“Given a choice between watching a debate and the speech I would have watched the debate and I’m not even a Republican or even close to being a Republican,” he said, adding it will be a “barn burner.”

The administration agreed to move the speech to Thursday- possibly competing with the kick off of the NFL season instead. The White House has been touting this jobs plan telling ABC News that he will propose tax relief, infrastructure investment and assistance for the long term unemployed.

Obama has received advice from both sides with some arguing for an ambitious proposal and others recommending finding middle ground.

Carville, an ABC News consultant, told me it doesn’t matter what Obama proposes, it won’t get through Congress.

“Just go out and just document it, it’s not so much that the speech is important George, it’s the follow up after the speech,” he said. “And this is going to have to be what they are going to run the 2012 campaign on…this congress is not going to pass anything that the president proposes, that is pretty clear.”

Republican presidential candidate Rick Perry continued his attack on Social Security over the weekend, calling it a “Ponzi scheme” and a “monstrous lie” to younger Americans who should not expect to get back their contributions upon retirement.

“It is a Ponzi scheme for these young people. The idea that they’re working and paying into Social Security today, that the current program is going to be there for them, is a lie,” Perry said, according to the Houston Chronicle.

“It is a monstrous lie on this generation, and we can’t do that to them,” Perry told a crowd a The Vine Coffeehouse in Ottumwa, Iowa.

Texas Gov. Rick Perry asn’t physically present, but he was there. So was the presumptive GOP heir, Mitt Romney.

But after the debate Thursday night, and the sttaw poll vote on Saturday, this moment belongs to Congresswoman Michelle Bachmann.

Winning the Ames straw poll vote is not an overall indicator, but it is setting the scene for a GOP race that will not “be over” before the key states of Florida get to weigh in.

Less than 12 hours after the straw poll results, the field has changed. Gov. Tim Pawlenty has withdrawn from the race. Rick Santorium was slightly bouyed by his results, albeit it may not transform into cash or votes.

The pundits see the race going as follows: Bachmann will take the win in the Iowa caucus, Romney will take New Hampshire, and Perry will take South Carolina (no coincidence that he made his announcement in SC). So going into Florida, there will be a three way split to solidfy the forces. The dems will promote this as a party divide, but the actuality is that it may give the GOP a better chance at electing THE CANDIDATE, the one who can dethrone THE ONE!

Fasten those seat belts, for its going to be a bumpy ride!!
