Liberal Left is on the Rampage Over Obama’s Compromise on Tax Cuts

     Throughout the weekend, the Left was on a rampage wondering who the spineless sap occupying the White House is. MoveOn.org is furious, as are pundits like Bill Maher. They question where is the person that they elected.

     As Barack Obama spoke shortly before 7pm to outline the compromise that had been reached concerning the extension of the Bush tax cuts, the internet was on fire from MoveOn, Daily Kos, and many other liberal sites were attacking him.

      Jonah Goldberg, on FOXNews, said that he had received a twitter asking “Who will be the first Democrat to ask to see Obama’s birth certificate”.

     In the compromise, the Bush tax cuts will be extended for ALL for two years, as well as the extension of the tax breaks that were included in the $787 billion dollars stimulus package. The estate tax, which this year is zero, and was to go to 55% ($1 million dollar exclusion), has been negotiated to 35% (with a $5 million dollar exclusion). Additionally, the payroll tax will be lowered by 2% for the year, in an attempt to stimulate the economy with more $$$ in the hands of individuals and businesses. From their side, the GOP has agreed to the extension of unemployment compensation benefits for an additional 13 months….. now for THREE YEARS.

      Some are calling today’s Obama Drama his “Read My Lips” moment (Bush Sr), while others are saying it is his first positive volley for his 2012 Campaign with a “great stimulus” in the year leading toward the 2012 primaries. Will the hardcore Left base forgive him, or will tonight’s speech and compromise open the door to a primary challenger for Barack Obama?

Is Obama at his “Read My Lips” Moment on taxes?

     President George HW Bush campaigned on “No New Taxes”, capping it off with “Read my Lips”. Upon raisng taxes, he was thus held to one term in office.

     Barack Obama kept a similar tone during the campaign, assuring that 95% of us would not see an increase in our taxes.

     Now, on the Sunday circuit, a concerted and ominous effort by the Obama administration to let the American public know that we will face increased taxes to cover the deficit, and as a country, we must be ready to pay up. Both Larry Summers and Timothy Geithner have said that tax increases are inevitable!
