WASHINGTON — There’s a new push to make testing for the AIDS virus as common as cholesterol checks.

Americans ages 15 to 64 should get an HIV test at least once — not just people considered at high risk for the virus, an independent panel that sets screening guidelines proposed Monday.

The draft guidelines from the U.S. Preventive Services Task Force are the latest recommendations that aim to make HIV screening simply a routine part of a check-up, something a doctor can order with as little fuss as a cholesterol test or a mammogram. Since 2006, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention also has pushed for widespread, routine HIV screening.

Yet not nearly enough people have heeded that call: Of the more than 1.1 million Americans living with HIV, nearly 1 in 5 — almost 240,000 people — don’t know it. Not only is their own health at risk without treatment, they could unwittingly be spreading the virus to others.

The updated guidelines will bring this long-simmering issue before doctors and their patients again — emphasizing that public health experts agree on how important it is to test even people who don’t think they’re at risk, because they could be.

INSTEAD OF SIMPLY RAISING PRICES, THIS ENTREPRENEUR WANTS HIS PATRONS TO UNDERSTAND THE WHY!!!

A Florida restaurateur who operates roughly 40 Denny’s locations and five Hurricane Grill & Wings franchises in Florida, Virginia and Georgia intends to add a 5 percent surcharge to customers’ bills to offset costs from ObamaCare beginning in January 2014 when the Affordable Care Act is fully implemented.

“People are trying to find ways to avoid the penalties and to avoid having to pay for ObamaCare,” John Metz told FoxNews.com. “Everyone’s looking for a way to not have to provide insurance for their employees. It’s essentially a huge tax on all us business people.”

To further offset the costs, Metz, who oversees roughly 1,200 employees as president and CEO of RREMC Restaurants, LLC, said he also will slash most of the staff’s time to fewer than 30 hours per week. That change will be announced to employees next month, he said.

“I want to explain it to everybody, to let them know what’s coming down the pike,” he said. “We like to keep our employees informed.”

The changes will force some front-of-the-house employees to look for second jobs, Metz said, but he simply cannot afford the penalties associated with ObamaCare.

“It’s a great concept,” he said. “We want to have everyone insured. The problem is, who is going to pay for it and how are we going to accomplish this?”

Well, maybe not death panels, exactly, but unless we start allocating health
care resources more prudently — rationing, by its proper name — the exploding
cost of Medicare will swamp the federal budget”

“A number of popular television programs and personalities such as Grey’s
Anatomy, Modern Family, the Biggest Loser, Dr. Oz and others
will be
approached and pitched to incorporate story lines or mentions of health care
reform that would reinforce campaign messages.”

The Internal Revenue Service on Tuesday assured congressional lawmakers that agents would play no role in enforcing the controversial requirement that Americans buy insurance under President Barack Obama’s health care overhaul.

“IRS revenue agents will not be involved. There will not be audits,” IRS Deputy Commissioner Steven Miller told a subcommittee of the tax-writing Ways and Means Committee in the Republican-controlled House of Representatives.

The law, passed in 2010 and upheld by the Supreme Court, will charge individuals a fee, or tax, if they fail to buy insurance starting in 2014.

Opponents of the healthcare measure have focused on that requirement, with some Republicans saying they worry the IRS, the agency responsible for tax collection and tax law enforcement, will harass people who fail to buy insurance.

“In most cases, taxpayers will file their tax returns reporting their health insurance coverage, and-or making a payment, and there will be no need for further interactions with the IRS,” Miller said.

The first affect of ObamaCare on the average worker will begin January 1st with an increase in their Medicare payroll tax.
Presently, the tax is 2.9%, split equally between the employee and the employer (1.45% each).
Beginning January 1st, there will be a 0.9% increase in the tax to 3.8%….. the entire 0.9% being paid by the employee (Now that’s a surprise).
So on a $500.00 gross check, the employee’s Medicare tax will go from $7.25 to 11.75 per week. That is an additional $234 per year.
And that is just ONE of the tax increases.

from ZeroHedge.com:

In the 2400 pages of this obamanation piece of legislation, does it not state that if one fails to have health insurance, they will be penalized! If it is stated therein, how then can the Court deem this a TAX? Just wondering!?

And of course, how do all the Dems who voted for this now justify this TAX INCREASE??

The Supreme Court has weighed in on the legislation known as OBAMACARE!!!

ObamaCare’s Individual mandate will stand as a TAX…. exactly what the Obama team said it was NOT !!

May God save this Republic…. this is a disaster!
