The Right Looks to Use “Alinsky Theories” Against Progressive Agenda

Jesse Jackson isn’t the only activist that can use corporate boycotts for political purposes. Starting next year, the huge Tea Party organizer FreedomWorks will urge supporters to punish huge corporations like General Electric and Johnson and Johnson for backing President Obama’s progressive agenda.
In an exclusive review for Whispers of their plan, FreedomWorks president Matt Kibbe says: “Tea Party activists are willing to tackle progressive CEOs just as they tackled progressive politicians. Judging by the results of the midterm elections, progressive CEOs should buckle up, because Tea Party activists are going to give them a very bumpy ride.”

Using Executive Orders to Meet Agenda Items

Obama Making Plans to Use Executive Power
Mr. Obama has not given up hope of progress on Capitol Hill, aides said, and has scheduled a session with Republican leaders on health care later this month. But in the aftermath of a special election in Massachusetts that cost Democrats unilateral control of the Senate, the White House is getting ready to act on its own in the face of partisan gridlock heading into the midterm campaign.
“We are reviewing a list of presidential executive orders and directives to get the job done across a front of issues,” said Rahm Emanuel, the White House chief of staff.

Obama Supporter: Time for Obama to make the Hard Internal HR Decisions

Former Democratic Virginia Gov. Douglas Wilder says if Barack Obama is to fulfill his promise of positive change in America, the president must “make some hard changes of his own” by replacing inexperienced members of his team with “others more capable of helping him govern.”
In an editorial for Politico Tuesday, Wilder writes Obama’s White House staff is made up of too many people left over from the campaign or from his time in Chicago. “Getting elected and getting things done for the people are two different jobs,” Wilder writes, suggesting the president and his people haven’t fully made the transition from campaign mode to governing.
Wilder, who endorsed Obama in 2008, goes on:
One problem is that they do not have sufficient experience at governing at the executive branch level. The deeper problem is that they are not listening to the people.Hearing is one thing; listening is another.
Some are even questioning whether Obama has forgotten how he got elected and the promises he made to the people who elected him.
Don’t take my word for any of this. Look at the clear message the American people have been sending at the polls these past few months.

In the letter, he chastises the president and first lady Michelle Obama.
“I’d say shame on the both of you, but I don’t think you like America, nor do I see an ounce of gratefulness in anything you do, for the obvious gifts this country has given you,” Estes wrote. “Shape up and start acting like an American. If you don’t, I’ll do what I can to see you get shipped out of that fancy rental on Pennsylvania Avenue. You were elected to lead not to bow, apologize and kiss the hands of murderers and corrupt leaders who still treat their people like slaves.” Read Estes’ letter.
“I don’t think his word is good enough for him to fly around the world apologizing for the United States,” Estes told KITV.

Free Republic: MoveOn.Org in Panic Mode

This is a letter from MoveOn.org to its members. It was posted at FreeRepublic.com. Note that they referv to themselves separate from “the Democrats”. This is a true sign of the “progressives” in full force:
Dear MoveOn member,
After one bad Senate election, most Democrats in Washington are on the verge of full-fledged retreat.
Everything we’ve fought for together hangs in the balance. President Obama has signaled he’s open to dramatically scaling back health care reform.1 The chairman of the Senate Banking Committee says he might gut the financial reform bill to appease Republicans.2 And on top of all that, the Supreme Court just opened the floodgates of corporate cash on politics!3
We need to show Democrats that we’re mad as hell and we’re not going to take it anymore. So MoveOn members are organizing an emergency rally in Philadelphia on Tuesday to urge Democrats to show some backbone—starting with passage of a real health care reform bill.
We need a big turnout to show Democrats we’re still waiting on them to deliver the change we voted for—on health care and everything else. Can we count on you to attend?
Yes, I’ll be there on Tuesday at 12:00 PM Sorry, I can’t make it
The lesson from Massachusetts is that voters are angry and it’s time for Democrats to stand up to corporate interests and fight for working families by passing health care reform and taking on Wall Street.
And make no mistake: Democrats still have the ability to pass health care reform and other progressive legislation. They have a larger majority in Congress than Republicans ever did under George W. Bush—and even in Massachusetts, polls show that voters continue to support a bold, populist agenda.4
But it took an unprecedented grassroots movement to elect this President and Congress—and it’ll take all of us standing together now to get their attention, and get them to show some backbone.
Politico Poll: Martha Coakley is in a Free Fall

Despite Politico.com having the headline “New Poll: Coakley up by 9″, it is just wishful thinking. Once you read the actual story, you will find that the author had simply made a FUBAR error:
A new InsiderAdvantage poll conducted exclusively for POLITICO shows Republican Scott Brown surging to a 9-point advantage over Martha Coakley a day before Massachusetts voters trek to the ballot box to choose a new senator.
According to the survey conducted Sunday evening, Brown leads the Democratic attorney general 52 percent to 43 percent.
”I actually think the bottom is falling out,” said InsiderAdvantage CEO Matt Towery, referring to Coakley’s fall in the polls over the last ten days. “I think that this candidate is in freefall. Clearly this race is imploding for her.”
The numbers show males and independents overwhelmingly breaking for Brown, who has married his GQ looks with a populist tone in a pick-up truck on the campaign trail.

USA Today: Obama Agenda on Trial in Massachusetts?
January 17, 2010 in Campaign 2008, Campaign 2010, Campaign 2012, Capitalism, Economy, Family values, Politics, socialism, Uncategorized | Tags: Barack Obama, Martha Coakley, Mitch McConnell, Obama agenda, ObamaCare, redistribution of wealth, Scott Brown, social justice | 2 comments
from USA Today:
Don’t be surprised if President Obama campaigns in Boston today as if his entire agenda is at stake.
Because it may be.
An upset win by Republican Scott Brown in a special election Tuesday would give the GOP 41 votes in the U.S. Senate. That’s enough to filibuster any Democratic initiative, and that includes pending health care legislation.
Hoping to stave off such a result, Obama speaks at Northeastern University around 3:30 p.m. on behalf of Democratic candidate Martha Coakley. She is running against Scott Brown for the seat held for for more than four decades by liberal stalwart Edward M. Kennedy.
Republicans such as Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky., have called the surprisingly close race a referendum on health care. ” We know that in the most liberal state in America you’re going to have a close election for the United States Senate because people in Massachusetts don’t want this health care bill to pass,” McConnell said today on Fox News Sunday.

Note: The hall at Northeastern University holds approximately 3000; crowd estimates are 2000-2500—– Obama “star power” is waning; he cannot fill the hall in the most liberal city in the most liberal state.
