As DOJ Makes Its Case for Drone Attacks on US Citizens Abroad, the Left Admits that It Is OK for Obama, but They Would Be Trashing Bush For the same Thing

A confidential Justice Department memo concludes that the U.S. government can order the killing of American citizens if they are believed to be “senior operational leaders” of al-Qaida or “an associated force” — even if there is no intelligence indicating they are engaged in an active plot to attack the U.S.
The 16-page memo, a copy of which was obtained by NBC News, provides new details about the legal reasoning behind one of the Obama administration’s most secretive and controversial polices: its dramatically increased use of drone strikes against al-Qaida suspects abroad, including those aimed at American citizens, such as the September 2011 strike in Yemen that killed alleged al-Qaida operatives Anwar al-Awlaki and Samir Khan. Both were U.S. citizens who had never been indicted by the U.S. government nor charged with any crimes.
Meanwhile, Mika @ “MORNING JOE” admits that the drone attack policy would NOT be tolerated by the Left if George W. Bush was using it:
from Newsbusters:
Unusual candor from Mika Brzezinski and Harold Ford, Jr. on the double standard that exists for Republicans and Democrats. Discussing on today’s Morning Joe the Obama administration memo that has been uncovered authorizing the use of drone strikes to kill U.S. citizens abroad, Mika admitted that there would have been a “huge controversy” if such a memo had surfaced during the Bush administration. Ford said that “Democrats have to think now about how they conducted themselves and the questions they raised about Bush administration tactics.” Joe Scarborough flatly declared that had the policy come to light under Bush, it would have been “stopped” by the ensuing outcry. Obama Meets with his “A**-Kissing” Media to Garner Fiscal Cliff Support– Like These Buffoons Know Economics

President Obama met with a litany of liberal media personalities on Tuesday to push his tax cut message.
Spotted filing into the West Wing were Arianna Huffington of the Huffington Post and MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow, Lawrence O’Donnell, Ed Schultz and Al Sharpton.
The meeting was not on the president’s public schedule and White House officials initially declined to comment on the meeting. They later issued a statement to POLITICO:
“This afternoon at the White House, the President met with influential progressives to talk about the importance of preventing a tax increase on middle class families, strengthening our economy and adopting a balanced approach to deficit reduction,” spokesman Josh Earnest said.
The Obama administration conducts regular briefings of reporters from different media markets, but this did not immediately appear like such a briefing. According to White House visitor records, O’Donnell, for example, has not attended such briefings before.

Chet Huntley and David Brinkley, along with Walter Cronkite must all be turning in their graves at the way journalism has failed.
Wow, he’s still clinging to the belief Benghazi was the result of the Mohammed film? Even the Obama regime has admitted it had nothing to do with it.
“Read a newspaper, everybody knows it’s all about the video. It’s all about the video.”

Sununu Calls Obama “Lazy”, & NBC’s Andrea Mitchell Says “Take It Back”

from NewsBusters:
TAKE It BACK!!!
John Sununu, did you just call Barack Obama lazy? Quick: someone call the PC police! But before we slap the race-card cuffs on you, Andrea Mitchell, being the nice MSM lady she is, will offer you the chance to take back your horrifying comment!
That’s essentially what went down on Mitchell’s MSNBC show this afternoon. Critiquing President Obama’s listless debate performance, Romney adviser Sununu said that it revealed how “how lazy and detached” he is. Replied an appalled Mitchell: “Governor, I want to give you a chance to maybe take it back. Did you really mean to call Barack Obama, the President of the United States, lazy?” Sununu did not back down, providing an example of a recent statement by President Obama revealing how he was reluctant to prepare for the debate. Ann Romney Shines @ RNC and Chris Christie Calls for Leadership

As her sons beamed with pride with their wives at their sides, the future First Lady addressed the delegates at the Republican National Convention last night. She spoke of the man she has shared her life with, through the ups and downs. She spoke of Mitt Romney’s resolve, his commitment to success, the way he has impacted the lives of his fellow man.
Mrs. Romney was followed by Gov. Chris Christie, who spoke with his convictions, challenging the electorate that we need “Leadership” in Washington.
When the night was done, we flipped to MSNBC, and we knew they had hit the right tone, made the right impression. Why? Because Rachel Maddow, Laurence O’Donnell, Chris Matthews, and Ed Schultz HATED everything they heard. They were in an uproar over what was said, and was not said. It was simply amazing.

on “Morning Joe” where the crew speculated as to why Obama Senior Adviser David Axelrod has been so “agitated” and “upset” in recent TV appearances. Mike Barnicle openly wondered if the Obama Campaign’s internal polling is showing something that has really got them worried. Time’s Mark Halperin believes the Obama Campaign planned to have this election won “during the summer” while they had a huge money advantage. But from this point forward, Halperin said Obama is going to be outspent by Romney. Halperin said the Obama people believe if they do not have the election in hand by the time of the nominating conventions (Weeks of August 27 and September 3), they will be in trouble.
