The Clintonesque Obama, and His Monica Lewinsky

Jeff Schreiber from America’s Right ends his article on the Obama-Vera Baker story with the following observation:
Of course, as much as I would like to see this allegation of infidelity prove untrue, what I would really like to see is whatever story there is pursued as relentlessly by the mainstream media as they would if the possible cheater were Sarah Palin. After all, when you compare the media coverage of Mark Sanford’s failure to distinguish the Appalachian Trail from Argentinian tail with the perpetual cycle of ridicule-denial-admittance that was the John Edwards scandal, the press certainly has some ground to make up if they’re even moderately concerned about maintaining even a shred of objectivity.

Hypocrisy, Family Values, Politics

Perhaps it can be said that one must be narcissistic to be a politician. And family values is not simply a “Republican” mantra, nor do the Republicans have a market on hypocrisy.
Looking down memory lane…….
Lucy Mercer was with Franklin Roosevelt when he died in Warm Springs, GA (Little White House).
Mary Jo Kopechne lost her life in the waters off Chappaquidick, MA while Sen. Ted Kennedy swam to safety, and waited until morning to mention his accident, four decades ago this summer!
It cost the American public $40 Million dollars for Ken Starr to tell us about Monica Lewinsky, Bill Clinton and the “Blue Dress”
While on Bill Clinton, there was Gennifer Flowers and Paula Jones too!
Then you have the stories of the Kennedy brothers sharing Marilyn Monroe.
We have our present POTUS linked to Larry Sinclair, Reggie Love, and Nick Colvin.
Sen. John Edward’s had a love child even as his wife battles breast cancer again.
Dwight Eisenhower’s driver/mistress was Kay Summersby.
Who can forget Gov. McGreevy and his boy toy, or Barney Frank’s boyfriend operating a brothel from his apartment.
Our greatest President, Abraham Lincoln, had a longtime romantic relationship with his friend Joshua Speed, and when Mrs. Lincoln was out of the White House, he “shared” his bed with Captain David Derickson.
Should the private lives of our leaders be just that, private? Yes. However, when their private lives reflect cracks in their character, that is where there might be the need for the public to know of the character concerns. Each of these men have professed their belief in family values, and each show that they lacked the moral character to adhere to those values. Each showed that they are addicted to the power they have achieved, and with that addiction to power, they believe that the character issues no longer apply to them. It is not a Republican thing or a Democrat thing— it all lies in the drug of power!
Those who live in Glass Houses………

How the GOP Must Respond to Sanford-Gate and Ensign-Gate
By John Cardillo
America’s Right
For the record, I hate the “gate” suffix when describing scandals, but it just seemed so appropriate in this case since the Democrats have had their “gates” for years, and capitalized on them. Now it’s our turn.
Mark Sanford, in taking an Argentine vacation with his mistress, and John Ensign in having an affair with a friend’s wife, both give the GOP a unique opportunity to drag out some old Democratic dirty laundry as the 2010 midterm elections quickly approach.
That’s right, I’m talking about William Jefferson Clinton and his cigar, Elliot Spitzer a/k/a “Client # 9″ and, of course, former New Jersey Gov. Jim McGreevy, who not only had an affair, but a sexually harassing homosexual one. [I call him the "Jersey Meathook." -- Jeff]
Democrats love to point fingers whenever there is a Republican “sex scandal,” but that’s to be expected from a party that doesn’t like mirrors very much. However, when Democrat presidents seduce college kids, Democrat governors get caught paying prostitutes with whom they are cheating on their wives, or sexually harassing male employees, it is written off as human nature, and pressures of the job.

HILLARY AND BILL
February 3, 2009 in Campaign 2008, Campaign 2010, Campaign 2012, Capitalism, Economy, Family values, Politics, Terrorism, Uncategorized | Tags: Chelsea Clinton, Dorothy Rodham, Michelle Obama, Monica Lewinsky', Obama birth certificate, Paula Jones, President Barcak Obama, President Bill Clinton, secretary of State Hillary Clinton, Vice President Joe Biden | 1 comment
When President Clinton said “I did not have sex with that woman”, and then allowed his wife to go on shows like the “Today” show and defend him, many wondered how she could stay with him after the truth came to light. Many have criticized Hillary for staying with Bill for her own political gain, others have said their’s was always a relationship of convenience.
Whatever her reasons were for dealing with Bill, they are, after all, their personal business.
So when Vice President Biden appeared at the State Dept. to swear Hillary Clinton in as the Secretary of State, by her side stood her three closest allies and confidants, her mother Dorothy Rodham, her daughter Chelsea, and her husband, the 42nd President, Bill Clinton.
While some are saying that Hillary’s comments were embarassing to President Clinton, for most, she was sincerely thanking her husband and her family, and as she framed her words, she could sense how her words would be taken, so she put the humor to it. When all is said and done, the life that Bill and Hillary Clinton have shared has been full of “all kinds of experiences”. Isn’t that what we could all say!!??
