Despite the attempts of ABC, CBS, and NBC to frame yesterday’s “Chick-Fil-A Appreciation Day” as support for anti-same-sex marriage, Americans across the country packed the company’s 1600 stores to show their support for Dan Cathy’s freedom of speech. Cathy is the CEO of the privately-held, family owned fast food organization, and his support of “traditional marriage and family values” sparked a firestorm that has several high profile Mayors making threats to keep the company from any future expansions in their areas, a chilling thought that borders on fascism.

Pictures of long lines and great service were plastered on every social media.

At my Chick-Fil-A, the staff had been busy all day, and all managers were on hand to make sure everything went great.

This was not a protest against same-sex marriage, and anyone who tried to frame it as such just didn’t get it. It was heartening to even hear a few gay people being interviewed showing their support for Mr. Cathy’s freedom of speech. I am sure there were many, though we know the media will not permit it to be framed in that way.

So tomorrow, members of the LGBT community have called for a “kiss in”, encouraging same-sex couples to express their freedom of speech by kissing each other in Chick-Fil-A. While those who heed this call would be classified as those who “don’t get it”, thinking this was about marriage equality, I strongly support THEIR RIGHT to exercise their freedom of speech. A pastor on TV today said he debated with a lesbian pastor last night on a radio show about the Chick-Fil-A controversy, and to make his point about the freedom of speech issue and the “government intrusion” being intimidated by the likes of Rahm Emannuel, he told this woman that if she wanted to build a church and the city said “no way” because of her values or beliefs, he would stand with HER to defend her right to build her church.

And that is tolerance.

      And how was your weekend!!??

Gov. Mike Huckabee takes his name out of the polls and contention to be Obama’s replacement come January 20, 2013. Meanwhile, NBC forces Donald Trump’s hand by wanting to publicize the Fall television lineup, forcing him to go with his successful “Apprentice”.

Then there is Gov. Mitch Daniels, whose only stumbling block in making a bid for the White House is his wife, and her aversion to the spotlight. Cheri Daniels has made a few more public appearances than usual of late, and on Thursday she made a keynote speech. This appears to have been a trial balloon from the Daniels team, giving the media the opportunity to bring up the Daniels’ personal dirt. For those who are unaware, Mrs. Daniels left her husband and their four daughters and married someone else. She and Daniels remarried several years later. So the “character issue” on this team lies with the wife— will voters, particularly women voters, take to her after she left her role as mother.

And then there is Newt Gingrich. He trashed Rep. Paul Ryan for his bold fiscal recovery plan, and made comments about the healthcare mandate as though he is supporting ObamaCare. Many pundits say he has already imploded his campaign.

And, so again…………how was your weekend?

Just 24 hours before Newt Gingrich’s expected announcement of the formation of an “exploratory” committee for a possible White House bid, FOX News has taken initial steps with regard to two of its paid contributors:

Fox News’ Bret Baier just announced that the network has put a 60-day suspension on the paid contributor deals with both Newt Gingrich and Rick Santorum — who are both considering a run for president in 2012.

“The suspension is effective for 60 days, then on May 1st, their contracts will be terminated unless they notify FOX they are not running for president,” said Baier, reporting from Washington, DC during “Happening Now.”

Fox News host Mike Huckabee and contributor Sarah Palin, whose names are also being considered as 2012 GOP candidates, are not included in this 60-day suspension.

As the 112th Congress digs into the hard work ahead of this great nation, the announcements of political changes on the horizon are not uncommon. Yesterday, Virginia’s Sen. Jim Webb (D-Va) announced that he will not seek another term.

Today, Arizona’s 3 term Senator Jon Kyl will announce in Arizona that he will not seek another term as Senator, leaving office at the end of this term. Although younger than Arizona’s “Senior” Senator John McCain, Kyl is 68.

There is already some speculation if Senator Kyl could possibly emerge as the “dark horse” for the GOP 2012 Presidential nomination, or perhaps as a “Bidenesque” (without the gaffes) Vice President for a Huckabee or Palin nominee. The oddsmakers in Vegas are probably already doing the stats!

The Left is “giddy” over the fact that Sarah Palin is considering a run at the White House in 2012. She tells Barbara Walters that she thinks that she could defeat Barack Obama. The Left welcomes a Palin challenge, primarily because most polls show Obama winning.

BUT, could they be hoping for the wrong thing? Are they underestimating Sarah Palin? Or moreso, are the underestimating the American public? No, the public is not screaming for a Palin presidency. But they are screaming for real and positive change, in the correct direction. In a poll released today, Gov. Mike Huckabee and Gov. Mitt Romney are tied in dead heats against Obama, while Obama beats Palin by 8 points.

We are about 4-5 months from the first candidate making the official announcement. In about 15 months, on a cold January night in Iowa, the caucus/primary system will begin………………

What do you think?

Michelle meets Huck

Despite recent tensions between Fox News and the White House, the first lady will soon be making an appearance on the network.

No, the sit-down won’t be on Glenn Beck’s show and is not likely to touch on hot-button political issues or 2010 races. Michelle Obama, who has taken up the cause of fighting childhood obesity, will discuss the issue with former presidential-candidate-turned-host Mike Huckabee.

This scenario comes from RepublicanRankings.blogspot.com:

My Projection!
Palin 40%
Romney 37%
Huckabee 15%
Other: 8%

1. Palin will endorse Rubio at some point. (Romney not going to endorse anyone)

Rasmussen poll shows tie: Crist 43%, Rubio 43%

When Palin endorses Rubio he will win the Primary by a landslide. In my opnion The main reason Palin has not endorsed Rubio (yet) is she does not want Crist to flip parties and run as a Democrat. (Democrats have a weak/somewhat unknown/liberal candidate for this race)

Romney is playing it smart by not endorsing anyone in the GOP races this year. why? because he does not want to risk losing his moderate (Esablishment Base) by picking a conservative like Rubio or Perry, and he does not want to risk losing to Sarah Palin when he endorses the moderate like Crist or KBH.

Romney is going the obama way: vote present.

The only problem is he risks losing a high profile endoresmet from future (biger then palin rockstar) Marco Rubio in the 2012 FL Primary.

2.Huckabee has already endorsed Rubio, But Rubio will endorse the one who gives him the most political bounce (Sarahcuda).
