CurrentTV: Ideology as Important As $$$, So Network was Sold to Al-Jazeera over Glenn Beck’s “The Blaze”

Go figure… Al Gore and CurrentTV were not just selling for the $$$$$. They are so “principled” that they would not just sell the network to just “anybody”. So with ideology obviously a major factor, it appears that Al Gore and his friends are more aligned with the ideology of Al-Jazeera than that of a conservative American!
Glenn Beck was rejected by Current TV. The television channel was recently purchased by Al-Jazeera. Prior to that transaction, Beck’s “The Blaze” explored options to purchase the channel, according to a Jan. 3, 2013 report by Yahoo! News. The problem is that there weren’t any options available, at least not for Beck.
The news came to light after Glenn Beck tweeted that he was rejected by Current TV. He wrote, “Before Al-Jazeera bought Current TV, TheBlaze looked into buying it but we were rejected by progressive owners.”
The channel told “The Blaze,” that ” . . . the legacy of who the network goes to is important to us and we are sensitive to networks not aligned with our point of view.” It may come as no surprise that Beck is “not aligned” with Current TV’s “point of view,” but it is shocking that the channel felt Al-Jazeera was a better fit. Glenn Beck was rejected by Current TV, but the channel accepted $500 million from Al-Jazeera. Of that whopping sum, Al Gore will receive $100 million.
Hhhmm.. I for one would have liked to have seen Glenn Beck be Keith Olbermann’s boss!!
Jummy Fallon Show Disses Rep. Bachmann; Band Played “She’s a Lyin’ Bitch” When She was Introduced

Submitted for your disapproval, in case you haven’t already seen the clip elsewhere. Compare and contrast with the Fishbone original. The dumbest part of this, of course, is the drummer tweeting about it to make sure everyone got “the joke,” which defeats the purpose of disguising the insult. If you know the media’s going to be buzzing about it tomorrow, why not just call Bachmann a “lyin’ ass bitch” to her face? At least that way she’d get to defend herself and the show wouldn’t look like it’s stabbing her in the back.
A Twitter user asked the drummer last night, “you don’t think indirectly calling a guest on your show a ‘bitch’ might blow up in your face? & maybe it should? (I’m a democrat)”. Here was the response. Fallon himself tweeted a few hours ago that the drummer is “grounded” but we’ll have to wait ’til tonight’s show to find out if that means anything more than “please stop yelling at me about Bachmann.”

At Richmond Show Beck Announces One of the Things He Will Do After FOX Gig
Glenn Beck
Posted on Tuesday, April 12, 2011 8:30:41 AM by VA Voter
I went to the Glenn Beck show in Richmond, VA last night with the wife. Thanks to Glenn’s generosity for former military we were able to get free tickets in center orchestra, very good seats.
The show starts around 7:30 with Pat and Stu doing the warmup which is just OK. Glenn then does a stand up routine that is entertaining and funny. You can’t believe he makes some of his stories funny but he does. He mixes in a little of his political schtick, not as much as I would have liked, but it works.
Following the break he takes questions from the audience which are really pre-made up by Glenn. One of the weakest bits was when Pat imitates Algore’s voice reading Algore’s really stupid and entirely too long global warming poem. Glenn took a mild shot at Trump over Trump giving a weak, not thought out interview response about religion.
It was during this segment that he announced ONE of the things he would be doing after he leaves his 5pm FOX show is a conservative comedy show a’la Cobert and Stewart. There were no other details about the impending show. Glenn did say he might as well announce to everyone what all of his plans are since it’s dribbling out bit by bit anyway.
Start to finish it was a little over 2 hours and very enjoyable. We had a very entertaining evening and hope it’s sold out in all its venues.

NYT, Muslim Brotherhood, Egypt, and Beck

“In the process many have formed some unusual bonds that reflect the singularly nonideological character of the Egyptian youth revolt, which encompasses liberals, socialists and members of the Muslim Brotherhood.”
“I like the Brotherhood most, and they like me,” said Sally Moore, a 32-year-old psychiatrist, a Coptic Christian and an avowed leftist and feminist of mixed Irish-Egyptian roots. “They always have a hidden agenda, we know, and you never know when power comes how they will behave. But they are very good with organizing, they are calling for a civil state just like everyone else, so let them have a political party just like everyone else — they will not win more than 10 percent, I think.”
“Islam Lotfi, a lawyer who is a leader of the Muslim Brotherhood Youth, said his group used to enlist others from the tiny leftist parties to stand with them in calling for civil liberties, to make their cause seem more universal. Many are now allies in the revolt, including Zyad el-Elaimy, a 30-year-old lawyer who was then the leader of a communist group.”
Exactly what Beck said and was ridiculed for, is now on the front page of the NYT.

Krauthammer: Massacre Followed by Libel

The charge: The Tucson massacreis a consequence of the “climate of hate” created by Sarah Palin, the Tea Party, Glenn Beck, Obamacare opponents and sundry other liberal betes noires. The verdict: Rarely in American political discourse has there been a charge so reckless, so scurrilous and so unsupported by evidence.

Journalistic Double-Standard: “Don’t Jump to Conclusions” after Ft. Hood, but Immediate Attacks on Palin, Others, after Giffords Shooting

On November 5, 2009, Maj. Nidal Hasan opened fire at a troop readiness center in Ft. Hood, Texas, killing 13 people. Within hours of the killings, the world knew that Hasan reportedly shouted “Allahu Akbar!” before he began shooting, visited websites associated with Islamist violence, wrote Internet postings justifying Muslim suicide bombings, considered U.S. forces his enemy, opposed American involvement in Iraq and Afghanistan as wars on Islam, and told a neighbor shortly before the shootings that he was going “to do good work for God.” There was ample evidence, in other words, that the Ft. Hood attack was an act of Islamist violence.
Nevertheless, public officials, journalists, and commentators were quick to caution that the public should not “jump to conclusions” about Hasan’s motive. CNN, in particular, became a forum for repeated warnings that the subject should be discussed with particular care.
“The important thing is for everyone not to jump to conclusions,” said retired Gen. Wesley Clark on CNN the night of the shootings.
“We cannot jump to conclusions,” said CNN’s Jane Velez-Mitchell that same evening. “We have to make sure that we do not jump to any conclusions whatsoever.”

A New Year, A New Day, A New Revolution
January 5, 2011 in Campaign 2008, Campaign 2010, Campaign 2012, Capitalism, Christianity, Economy, Family values, Politics, socialism, Uncategorized | Tags: A New Revolution, Barack Obama, Glenn Beck, Van Jones, William Wilberforce | 2 comments
Some on the left, like Francis Piven and Van Jones, are urging a revolution, a taking to the streets. Libertarians like Glenn Beck and John Stossel say it is time for an inward revolution.. a renewal of our personal commitment to restoring the great luster of this Great Nation.
JAMES had wrote earlier in the year that it was time for the revolution, not of guns and might, but of ourselves. It is time that we face the facts that the further our country has strayed from the fundamental values of the Judeo-Christian foundation of our Republic, the worse the troubles of the Nation have progressed.
The New Revolution will not be welcomed by all. In fact, it will be resisted by many. Those who have attempted to alter the basic theories of life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness will fight the New Revolution each and every step of the way. A return to the values and morals as defined in the Bible will anger many, but far more, the majority will welcome them.
May each of us embrace the concept that the only saving grace to this nation will be for each of us to look within and decide if we are willing to accept the challenge to be this Nation’s, this moment’s William Wilberforce!
