Even as I write this, the Orange County Medical Examiners Office, as well as other agencies, are performing the autopsy and necessary forensics testing to identify the skeletal remains of a small child, which were discovered near the home where Caylee Anthony and her mother, Casey, lived with Caylee’s grandparents, George and Cindy Anthony.

Regardless of the exact circumstances surrounding the disappearance and death of the Orlando toddler, there is absolutely no excuse plausible for the actions of Casey Anthony, and, even at this point, for her parents. There is no level of spin that can make this a “tragic accident”.
Casey Anthony obviously knew when she got pregnant that she was not ready for motherhood. During their investigation interviews after the child’s disappearnce was finally reported to the police, 30 days after the fact, it was found that Casey had initially sought to arrange an adoption for her daughter. Casey’s mother, Cindy, fought that move and ultimately won out. It was further discovered that Cindy and George Anthony were discussing the possibility of seeking custody of their granddaughter just prior to her disappearance.
As Geraldo Rivera pointed out yesterday, there is a growing trend among young parents to use things like chloroform to assist in their children’s sleeping so the young parent’s “youth” is not disrupted. A prime example of “uninterrupted youth” is Casey Anthony dancing at Club Fusion just days after Caylee was last seen.
If there was an accident, unfortunately that occurs, and the loss is tragic. A tragedy that no one should have to endure. As pointed out in a previous post thread, there are so many varying reasons why children end up in the care of the state, but there is no reason for a child to be harmed in any way in our civilized society.
