About $2 billion worth of European bonds owned by MF Global were bought by billionaire investor George Soros’s family fund, the Wall Street Journal wrote on Friday, quoting people close to the matter.

On October 31 MF Global collapsed into the eighth-largest bankruptcy in U.S. history and an estimated $1.2 billion in client funds remains unaccounted for.

According to press reports, the board allowed the company’s exposure to European sovereign debt to increase by more than four times to $6.3 billion between late 2010 and shortly before it entered bankruptcy.

from ZeroHedge:

“Again, what’s happening in the US is NOT a garden-variety cyclical recession. It is a STRUCTURAL SECULAR DEPRESSION. And the reason is that we are currently witnessing the collapse of the greatest debt bubble of all time.”

Ann Barnhardt: DOUBLE RED ALERT (Soros buying up farmland)

Double Red Alert

Posted by Ann Barnhardt – June 24, AD 2011 9:01 AM MST

Two HUGE intel leads in my email box this morning from way-back contacts that I’ve had for years, that are actually somewhat connected concepts.

1. File this one under “Now It All Makes Sense”. A Missouri farming and ranching contact just got off a conference call wherein he was informed that the federal government is sending out letters to all of the flooded out farmers in the Missouri River flood plain and bottoms notifying them that the Army Corps of Engineers will offer to BUY THEIR LAND.

Intentionally flood massive acreage of highly productive farmground. Destroy people’s communities and homes. Catch them while they are desperate and afraid and then swoop in and buy the ground cheap. Those evil sons of bitches.

2. Speaking of evil sons of bitches, George Soros appears to be “investing” in farmground through the same puppet company that he used to get into the grain elevator and fertilizer business. The company is called Ospraie Capital Management and is buying up farmground in a joint venture with Teays River Investments as a partner. Here is that announcement:

Click Here: http://www.absolutereturn-alpha.com/Article/2242566/Ospraie-Launches-JV-Agriculture-Fund.html

Okay. Here’s the connection. This Ospraie outfit was a hedge fund specializing in commodities that was started and run by some cocky child who didn’t know how to trade bear markets and got his butt kicked into next week in the grain market of 2008. He also lost a fortune trying to trade RARE EARTH METALS. In fact, it was so bad that he had to shut his fund down because he had promised his investors that he would give them all of their investment money back if the fund lost more than 30% in one year. Whoopsie.

But it appears that Soros swooped in and saved the day because this Ospraie is the “co-investor” with Soros that bought the remnants of ConAgra’s trading operation and renamed it . . . Gavilon. In the industry, it is widely acknowledged that Ospraie IS Soros. That three-page article citation is here, copy and paste the URL into your address bar:

http://money.cnn.com/2008/11/12/news/companies/ospraie_demos.fortune/index.htm

As you probably remember, Gavilon just recently bought both DeBruce Grain out of Kansas City and the biggest grain elevator company in the Pacific Northwest, thus making Soros (who is the money behind Gavilon through both his own Soros Fund Management AND his de facto control of Ospraie) the third-largest grain company in the U.S. with 280 million bushels of storage capacity, behind only Archer Daniels Midland (542 million bushels storage capacity) and Cargill (344 million bushels storage capacity). That citation is here:

http://www.world-grain.com/News/News%20Home/Features/2010/12/A%20powerful%20signal.aspx?p=1

Bottom line: Soros, through Ospraie, is buying up farmground. Please also note that the hotlink citation above is dated June 26, 2009. My contact says this has been going on for two years – and also remember what I told you about farmground prices inflating wildly, especially in Illinois. I have personally confirmed farmground in Illinois selling for $13,000 per acre within the last month, whereas that same kind of ground in Illinois was going for $5500 per acre the day Obama was inaugurated.

“Given the current state of things, I’m sure there are a lot of people deliberately deciding to adopt a low profile, politically or socially. A lot of this has to do not so much with politics but what your neighbors or your coworkers will say about you, right? If you tell them something that is actually happening in the world, you will be labeled a conspiracy theorist; they’ll look at you as if you’re crazy. But what about the activists? At a certain stage, the great mass of people will look around for leadership figures. When the economic crisis comes, they’re going to want someone to tell them how to get out of it. They’re not going to know the answers themselves. The question is, will there be activists, leadership figures, proposing the right solutions – and how soon will they come along?” Edwin Vieira

What is Agenda 21?  If you do not know about it, you should.

Agenda 21 is a two-decade old, grand plan for global ’Sustainable Development,’ brought to you from the United Nations. George H.W. Bush (and 177 other world leaders) agreed to it back in 1992, and in 1995, Bill Clinton signed Executive Order #12858, creating a Presidential Council on ‘Sustainable Development.’ This effectively pushed the UN plan into America’s large, churning government machine without the need for any review or discussion by Congress or the American people.

‘Sustainable Development’ sounds like a nice idea, right?  It sounds nice, until you scratch the surface and find that Agenda 21 and Sustainable Development are really cloaked plans to impose the tenets of Social Justice/Socialism on the world.

At risk from Agenda 21;

  • Private Property ownership
  • Single-Family homes
  • Private car ownership and individual travel choices
  • Privately owned farms

George Soros recently openly gave Media Matters one million dollars, as well as $1.8 MILLION DOLLARS to NPR,( and we know that he has funnelled funds to various organizations to assist in his agenda) and basically issued a fatwa on FOX and Beck.  Now, NPR fired Juan Williams for comments he made on O’Reilly the other night.

UPDATE: Soros donated $1.8 Million dollars to NPR:

Last week, George Soros — “the billionaire financier who was an energetic Democratic donor in the last several election cycles,” according to the New York Times — announced he was sitting out the 2010 race because “I don’t believe in standing in the way of [a Republican] avalanche.”

Today, National Public Radio announced a $1.8 million grant from Soros’s Open Society Foundations for an “Impact of Government” initiative that will eventually “add editorial resources and reporters to NPR member stations in all 50 states.”

According to The Daily Caller, “The firing of National Public Radio news analyst Juan Williams for comments made about Muslims, combined with left-wing billionaire George Soros’ recent $1.8 million donation to the organization, have reignited calls to end NPR’s taxpayer subsidies.”

And Examiner.com Los Angeles stated that “Soros money is now beginning to turn the screws and place pressure.”

This is a letter from MoveOn.org to its members. It was posted at FreeRepublic.com. Note that they referv to themselves separate from “the Democrats”. This is a true sign of the “progressives” in full force:

Dear MoveOn member,

After one bad Senate election, most Democrats in Washington are on the verge of full-fledged retreat.

Everything we’ve fought for together hangs in the balance. President Obama has signaled he’s open to dramatically scaling back health care reform.1 The chairman of the Senate Banking Committee says he might gut the financial reform bill to appease Republicans.2 And on top of all that, the Supreme Court just opened the floodgates of corporate cash on politics!3

We need to show Democrats that we’re mad as hell and we’re not going to take it anymore. So MoveOn members are organizing an emergency rally in Philadelphia on Tuesday to urge Democrats to show some backbone—starting with passage of a real health care reform bill.

We need a big turnout to show Democrats we’re still waiting on them to deliver the change we voted for—on health care and everything else. Can we count on you to attend?

Yes, I’ll be there on Tuesday at 12:00 PM Sorry, I can’t make it

The lesson from Massachusetts is that voters are angry and it’s time for Democrats to stand up to corporate interests and fight for working families by passing health care reform and taking on Wall Street.

And make no mistake: Democrats still have the ability to pass health care reform and other progressive legislation. They have a larger majority in Congress than Republicans ever did under George W. Bush—and even in Massachusetts, polls show that voters continue to support a bold, populist agenda.4

But it took an unprecedented grassroots movement to elect this President and Congress—and it’ll take all of us standing together now to get their attention, and get them to show some backbone.

MoveOn.Org is scared. They are nervous that Massachusetts AG Martha Coakley might have “slacked off” on the campaign trail (vacationing just weeks before the all-important special election to fill Ted Kennedy’s Senate seat), and with her opponent, Scott Brown now closing in on her witgh single digit poll differences.

“We can’t let a right-winger take over Ted Kennedy’s seat because not enough progressives are paying attention.”

So MoveOn.org has dispatched the troops to the battlefield known as Massachusetts. Groups like ACORN and SIEU affiliates will be pushing the electorate in these last 10 days of campaigning. Adding to the worries, there is an Independent on the ballot, Joseph Kennedy. No, not Joseph Kennedy of THE Kennedy family. But seeing the Kennedy name on the ballot to fill the Kennedy Senate seat might pull votes away from Coakley as well.

Until today, Coakley refused to meet face to face with Brown to debate the issues. But she has said she’d meet with the President of Iran.

In a recent speech, Safe School czar Kevin Jennings’ boyfriend, Jeff Davis,  commented on Jennings past activities in a Gay group called ACT, and mentioned the fundraiser they held for Obama in their home. From Liberty Post:

Sen. Barack Obama waded deep into Clinton territory Thursday evening at a private LGBT fundraiser in New York City where the price of admission was $2,300 per person. Held at the apartment of GLSEN founder and executive director Kevin Jennings and his partner, Jeff Davis, the event drew about 125 people and raised $170,000. No press were admitted, but based on several accounts, attendees were struck by the Illinois senator’s candor as well as his fluency with LGBT issues.

Here is a photo taken as Obama spoke:

See Davis’ comments, and more of Jennings, at

Regardless of one’s thoughts or views on homosexuality, there is absolutely no justification for Kevin Jennings having any role in our government or any organization that affects the policies of educating our children.
