You Gotta Love It: “If I Had A Dog……”

With unemployment filings rising agan, and the REAL number in the double digits, the housing market still in a state of disarray, the Dem’s “eating their own” to distance themselves from their support of Obamacare, Iran and its nuclear arms, and the lousy econoic recovery, it is DOGS that are drawing the news. One pundit yesterday, when questioned about Obama’s comment about “not being born with a silver spoon in his mouth” commented that Obama was born with “a golden retriever instead”! So the jokes and cartoons on Romney’s dog on the car and Obama eating dog meat take center stage.

With Axelrod Leading, Obama Campaign Goes to the “DOGS”; You Can’t Make This UP!!

It has been apparent for quite awhile that the Obama campaign team will not be able to wage a campaign on the President’s record, something that was non-existent in 2008, and that is now a dismal failure. So David axelrod, in an obvious attempt to move the conversation away from Hilary Rosen’s “she never worked a day in her life” comments about Ann Romney, decided to pull out an old story line about Mitt Romney: tying the dog crate, with the family dog in it, to the top of the station wagon for a trip! Really. This is where we have come to!

But just like the orchestrated Hilary Rosen comment fiasco got the Mom’s motivated, the dog story has opened up a whole new storyline….. for Obama.

Nothing is worse than your OWN words challenging you, but, right from the pages of his book, Dreams of My Father, Obama recounts some of his “life experience” with his stepfather, Lolo Soetoro, which included eating dog meat!:

“With Lolo, I learned how to eat small green chill peppers raw with dinner (plenty of rice), and, away from the dinner table, I was introduced to dog meat (tough), snake meat (tougher), and roasted grasshopper (crunchy). Like many Indonesians, Lolo followed a brand of Islam that could make room for the remnants of more ancient animist and Hindu faiths. Now, I know some world travellers, and I know that different cultures see things differently. And since he was being raised in the Muslim home of his adopted Muslim father, this isn’t something that would be a news story, per se.

But since Mr. Axelrod wanted to highlight Romney’s National Lampoon Family Vacation story as a distraction, far be it for anyone to ignore. And so, the jokes on Twitter have grown. To his credit, Mitt Romney, when asked about this story line on Hannity, declined to enter that area, instead saying that his focus is on the economy and JOBS!!!

 

My Dog

My Dog My dog sleeps about 20 hours a day. He has his food prepared for him. He can eat whenever he wants, 24/7/365. His meals are provided at no cost to him. He visits the Dr. once a year for his checkup, and again during the year if any medical needs arise. For this He pays nothing, and nothing is required of him. He lives in a nice neighborhood in a house that is much larger than He needs, but He is not required to do any upkeep. If He makes a mess, someone else cleans it up. He has his choice of luxurious places to sleep. He receives these accommodations absolutely free. He is living like a king, and has absolutely no expenses whatsoever. All of his costs are picked up by others who go out and earn a living every day. I was just thinking about all this, and suddenly it hit me like a brick in the head, Holy S#!t, my dog is a democrat!

     Annie Liebovitz had the opportunity to do the photo shoot of the First Family, and the “Official First Family” photo has been released.  Regardless of your agreement or disagreement with his policies, Liebovitz always brings out great pictures!  But, hey, were is BO and Grandma Robinson?

Michelle Obama and Jill Biden Spend Time Volunteering at a Food Bank event; How much Food would Michelle’s Sneakers provide?

     As it always happens with the First Lady’s of the White House, there “fashion” trends become headline news, along with items like “the Obama girls are shirking their Puppy duties!” So, this week’s fashion tidbit on MO has her still advertising for JCrew, but also sporting $540 sneakers while participating in a Food Bank food drive with Second Lady Jill Biden:

Michelle Obama has taken casual to a haute new level.

While volunteering Wednesday at a D.C. food bank, the First Lady sported her usual J.Crew cardigan, a pair of utilitarian capri pants and, on her feet, a sneaky splurge: trainers that go for $540.

That’s right: These sneakers – suede, with grosgrain ribbon laces and metallic pink toe caps – are made by French design house Lanvin, one of fashion’s hottest labels. They come in denim and satin versions, and have been a brisk seller all spring.
