Occupy “Wherever”: Small Vendors Are The Ones Getting Hurt

The Occupy movement came to Los Angeles aiming for Wall Street titans, but farmers market vendors are the first to take a real hit.

Two weeks ago, about 40 vendors who sell on the City Hall lawn every Thursday were forced off the property after protesters refused to remove their city of tents.

The mini-businesses — produce farmers, popcorn poppers, flower sellers — were abruptly moved by city officials to a new and less visible location across Main Street. Since that relocation, profits have plummeted, vendors have pulled out and shoppers have become scarce.

Who Didn’t See the Kardashian Divorce Coming? Husband Claims he was “Blindsided”….. Yea, Right!

Kim Kardashian filed for divorce Monday morning, after 72 days of not-so-wedded bliss to Kris Humphries  … TMZ has learned, and now we have the documents.

We’re told even though the marriage was short, she is not seeking an annulment. It’s a garden variety divorce, in which Kim cites “irreconcilable differences.”

The date of separation is listed as today, Oct. 31, 2011.  According to the docs, Kim wants Kris to foot his own lawyers’ fees and she’ll pay hers.  And, she wants the court to reject any move by Kris to get spousal support.

And, the docs list the length of the marriage as a measly 2 months.

Meanwhile, Momma Kris Jenner is releasing her “memoir” tomorrow, in which she recalls her conversations with Nicole Brown Simpson about Nicole’s fears of OJ. The book includes her account of a phone call with Nicole on the day of the murder, and their plans to meet for lunch the following day, to discuss Nicole’s fears.

Gun Ownership Soars to 18 Year High

Americans may be fleeing from stocks in droves, but they sure aren’t shy about rotating the resulting meager liquidation proceeds into weaponry. According to Gallup, “Forty-seven percent of American adults currently report that they have a gun in their home or elsewhere on their property. This is up from 41% a year ago and is the highest Gallup has recorded since 1993, albeit marginally above the 44% and 45% highs seen during that period.” Considering the social situation “out there”, and the fact that the world is one badly phrased or translated headline away from a complete HFT-facilitated market collapse, this is hardly all that suprising.

Oddly enough, today I was working on a longer essay on why, exactly, I can never bring myself to support Mittens Romneycare in any capacity.  I think my list had about 14 items to begin with, before Mittens delivered #15 today when he sided with the Labor Unions in Ohio against public sector employee reform that’s much needed to save my home state from financial ruin.

I didn’t like Mittens Romneycare earlier today…but I have to say I really and truly can’t stand this man now.

While at a GOP call center in Ohio where volunteers were working hard to support Governor Kasich’s effort to rein in the out of control public sector unions, Mittens refused to support the Governor’s efforts.

Every Republican coast to coast should be supporting the decertification of the Unions, particularly those working for taxpayers.

Obama and his syndicate have now declared the usurpation of the State of Tennessee and its melding into the Obama government to be official.  After extensive testing to see how far employees of Obama’s perverse TSA (Transportation Security Administration) would go with their sexual groping of even small children, Obama has now seen that they will do virtually anything they are tasked to do and “The One” has judged them worthy of the questionable honor of checking for US citizens’ papers on US highways, buses, trains and wherever else the now official dictator-in-chief decides he wants to exhibit his power and control over the American people.

Tennessee–which is the scene of multiple unconstitutional test cases with its completely corrupt Monroe County–has been chosen as the State that will begin the official Obama Police State.  The former USA has now become either East Germany or the Stalinist USSR–take your pick.  And, this move by the Obama syndicate has nothing–whatsoever–to do with terrorists (unless you’re finally waking up to the fact that the Obama syndicate members ARE the terrorists).  It is, however, Obama pushing hard for the final forced submission of We-the-People into the US Slave State, which has now arrived with nary a whimper.

Public School District Must Pay Teacher (on staff less than a year) For Not Allowing Her To Travel to Mecca Because School was in Session

A public school district in the U.S. must pay a Muslim teacher tens of thousands of dollars and establish a religious accommodation training program for refusing to let the instructor take three weeks off to make a pilgrimage to Mecca.

The settlement marks the conclusion of the first lawsuit filed by Obama’s Department of Justice (DOJ) as part of a pilot program designed to ensure “vigorous enforcement” of civil rights in the workplace. “Employees should not have to choose between practicing their religion and their jobs,” said Thomas Perez, the open borders advocate Obama appointed as Assistant Attorney General for the DOJ’s Civil Rights Division.  

The math teacher (Safoorah Khan) sued the Berkeley Illinois district when her middle school denied the leave request because she was the only math lab instructor and her absence would come at a crucial time right before exams. To further back its case, the district pointed out that the union contract did not allow that sort of leave for any teacher.

So Khan, who had worked at McArthur Middle School for barely a year, resigned and sued the district for religious discrimination. The DOJ’s bloated civil rights division quickly moved to help her. In a December lawsuit, the DOJ accuses the Berkeley School District of violating Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964 by failing to reasonably accommodate Khan’s religious practices. By denying Khan a “religious accommodation”, the district compelled Khan to choose between her job and her religious beliefs, the DOJ claimed.

I supported a democratic Congresswoman named Shelley Berkley. I called her during Obamacare. I said Shelley what are you doing, how do you do this? This is killing the unions and all of those that are supplying health care to our employees. And she said to me quote, and this is not hearsay. Shelley said to me, and she’s running for the senate, “Steve I know it’s terrible. My husband’s a doctor. He hates it too. But if I don’t vote for it, she will punish me.” She being Nancy Pelosi. I said, “Shelley every politician who has sold out their constituency has had a lame, terrible rationalization like the one you just gave me. Don’t ever call me again.” …That’s politics in America today. And, if any businessman or any working person doesn’t understand that this is a turning point in American history, Then I’m afraid that we’re going to get what we deserve.
