rubio certainly has valid points. unfortunately, he is grandstanding on behalf of his corrupt political party. kind of ironic that the party that spent us into this hole we’re in is now trying to preach fiscal discipline. unfortunately, this hilarious joke has real world consequences. The stock market crashed this week thanks to the GOP.

This hole is NOT the fault of the Elephant OR the JackAss……. It is the FAULT OF ALL OF THEM. And it is the result of more than four decades of shoddy government.

Bottomline, there is plenty of blame to go around. Instead of playing the blame game, or politics, lets bite the bullet and FIX THE PROBLEM.

Stothes, though you are a few years younger than me, neither you nor I will see the benefits we have contributed to during our work careers. But let us hope that the sacrifices we make will enable the next generation to flourish as America has always done!

it’s the “fixing the problem” bit that becomes the double edge sword. if you’re a candidate and you tell the truth then you don’t stand a chance of winning anything, because the unpopular truth is that we spend too much (particularly on defense and entitlements) and we don’t take in enough.

Stothes,

The FACT is that we didn’t have a TRILLION dollar deficit until AFTER the Democrats took conrol in 2006.

ANY deficit is too much of aa deficit for me, but for you to suggest that the Republlcans are the ONLY reason we are in the mess we are in, simply shows YOUR ignorance.

This comment takes the cake:

“The stock market crashed this week thanks to the GOP.”

Can you please show me ONE bit of proof that the “GOP” caused the market to take a down turn this last week?

Just ONE bit of evidence is all I’m asking for.

By the way, you do realize that the Democrats, who have controlled the House, Senate AND the Presidency for the last almost 3 years now have emassed as much debt for our once fine Country than Bush did in 8 years in office?

Or maybe you are ignorant to that also.

Stothes– I didn’t assume that you were defending the Dems. I was merely pointing out that these problems didn’t happen overnight, or just since Bush became President. They have been a long time in the making.

Regarding the double edge sword, earlier today I heard a quip about those who have been a part of creating this problem (Reid, McCain, Pelosi, Conyers, etc.) are now charged with fixing it… kind of like the fox guarding the hen house!

Hey All,

Just my two cents on the “compromise” deal agreed upon this weekend:

I suggested last week that both sides would go around harping about how “they” won. I have read headlines today that states that the “TEA Party” “won” with this deal.

Well, these individuals may have “won”, but the Country as a whole is a giant LOSER in this deal.

Only in Washington if this year you spent 5 dollars on something, and this year they want to spend 7 dollars on something, but “compromised” to only spend 6 dollars this year on something, is this called a 50% CUT.

The only way you CUT spending is to pay 4 dollars for something this year that you spent 5 dollars for last year.

It is pitiful the way we are being indoctrinated.

Obama touted this last week about how Reagan raised the debt limit 18 times during his Presidency. If you divide 18 by 8, then you figure out that Reagan signed a debt limit increase more than once every six months.

Why couldn’t Obama have been happy with a six month debt limit increase?

Would that be because he is a hypocrite?
