Shannen Coffin was a deputy attorney general during the Bush administration, and was charged with defending the federal partial-birth abortion act in court. At National Review, he writes that documents released by the Clinton White House show Elena Kagan’s “willingness to manipulate medical science to fit the Democratic party’s political agenda on the hot-button issue of abortion.” The account, if it is true, is a shocking one.
A key event in the politics of partial-birth abortion was a report by a “select panel” of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), a supposedly nonpartisan physicians’ organization. That report included this statement, which the Supreme Court found highly persuasive in striking down Nebraska’s partial-birth abortion ban:

I agree that Ms. Kagan will likely be confirmed. We can only hope she does not allow her politics to undermine the law, to undermine the Constitution. I believe that Sen. Spector is a hypocrite if he votes for her, having voted against her for Solicitor General. But who knows what job the 80+ year old buffoon has been offered.

Oh yes! it is always best to pull the innocent child out of his mother’s womb by the legs and stab his brain with a pair of scissors until he dies.
Wow, Was Congress and the President listening! Yes, And why are we just being told about this news alert????? Is this another one of the performances we put on for we the people that are usually asleep at the switch.
They know this stuff and they sit on it until it is convenient to bring it forward so they can portray that they are concerned and they feel bad that another despot will be put in a lifelong position.
We need to wake up; they (conservatives) are not our friends, they are not our protectors they use use and abuse us as always and we go merrily on our way skipping down the yellow brick road.

Hey All,
Well you want the President to appoint someone with the same beliefs he has don’t you?
Obama has no problem with the procedure either, he voted “present” the one and only time he had a “say” in the matter.
This is another payback for some “favor” Kagan did for Obama.
There is no way in the world Elena Kagan is the best person to be selected for the Supreme Court.
I think Ronald McDonald would be a better selection, but that’s just my personal opinion.
