As Maine voters prepare to go to the polls to vote on the Gay Marriage issue, proponent are attacking a spokesman for the opposition, calling for his state license as a social worker to be revoked. I believe the Bill of Rights protects his freedom of speech and freedom of association:
“Don is a high school guidance counselor and licensed social worker. His appearance in the television ad prompted a complaint to the Maine Department of Professional and Financial Regulation – requesting that his license to practice social work in the state of Maine be stripped away – simply because of his personal opinion on marriage.”

Hey All,
As far as I’m concerned, it doesn’t matter what he does for a living.
I am all for “Civil Unions”.
It shouldn’t be called “marriage”. That should be left for a union between a man and a woman.
This whole issue is ridiculous.

How does one complaint translate into your headline of “callS for a social worker’s license”.
More of the same repeat sensationalism from Rob…er, James.

I’d say that your response sounds petty. There obviously was enough coverage here in Maine to warrant the organization to issue a statement on his behalf.
