Hey All,
I commend Ari for putting Matthews in his place.
I find it interesting that he brought up a memo that stated that terrorists wanted to attack inside the US, and from that Bush was supposed to read in to that, the terrorists were going to use airplanes on Sept 11 to fly in to the WTC at 8:30am and the Pentagon at around 9:30am.
Ari did a good job of defending Bush’s policies, and although I agree with Matthews that spending under Bush was way out of control, to compare that to now, it was a drop in the bucket.
I wonder if Matthews will admit that in four years?

As the 9-11 commission determined, Clinton had plenty of intelligence reports that showed there was a need for concerns. I am sure that Obama turned white as a ghost (no pun intended) when he received his first intelligence briefing after his election.
And how graceful our Commander in Chief was today speaking in Canada, stating that he would not criticize Obama, because he deserves Bush’s silence as he tackles these problms at this point in time. Bush knows he will have plenty of time to give his opinion on the Obama presidency.

JAMES,
Are you referring to America’s Hero, George W. Bush? The same patriot that saved America by shredding the Constitution with legislation like the Patriot Act ? The same heroic American that read My Pet Goat to our schoolchildren while Manhattan was literally imploding? You mean the visionary intellectual, George W. Bush, that will be forever remembered for the unwavering populism he promoted? You know, like telecom immunity?

The same hero who was reading to school children, yes! Shall we crucify the man because he was reading books to children, like he knew that the terrorist threat assessments from the past decade were going to culminate in an attck at that very moment. History will show that George Bush was a far greater President than the empty suit that is sitting there now. Of course, that is my opinion, and Obama and Holder have not outlawed opinions…… YET!
