Simple, direct and to the point: President Barack Obama has just signed the most massive piece of legislation, reportedly designed as an economic stimulus package, but boondoggled into a spending package to fund social agenda programs that should be (and some are) funded in other appropriation legislation.

The Dems are so happy with all of their PORK!
Hopefully, I am wrong, but it seems like the American public has just received the worst “effin” it has ever seen.!!
God Save the United States!!

JAMES,
Can someone please explain to me why most of the “stimulus” of the bill will not be released until 2011?
Can you say re-election?
I just hope our country hasn’t fallen too deeply in to the black hole the Democrats have painted for us.
This bill is a piece of crap.
Thanks for letting the public view it for five days before signing it, Mr President.
Can people not see that this man doesn’t mean ANYTHING he promises? He couldn’t wait one more day to at least keep his promise of a bill sitting on his desk for five days before signing it so the American people have a chance to see what the Government is spending our kids and their kids’ money on?
You know the President sure is setting a good example for the country, when he allows Pelosi to use our plane to fly to Italy for vacation, and he is flying all around the country on our plane, spending our money, and then giving the whole country the finger by breaking almost every promise he has made.
I know where my extra 13 bucks a week is going, back to the Government in the form of the cigarette tax increase he signed BEFORE he gave us this supposed “tax break”. In the long run, each of us will probably end up with a tax increase.
I sure hope the Republicans are keeping tabs on all of this stuff, and bring them out in the form of a big chart, when 2012 comes around.
He just spent more with one signature, than we have in both of Bush’s “unjust” wars.
Now he’s sending more troops to Afghanistan. Not saying they are not needed, but I doubt he even knows why he is sending them.
The man doesn’t know what he is doing. He is basically a puppet on a string, and Pelosi, Reid, Axelrod, and Emanuel are pulling the strings.

Now IB, that cigarette tax is to provide healthcare to children…. but we need more smokers for that program to survive. And at the same time, in the stimulus apckage, we have funds so you can participate in smoking cessation programs… talk about talking out both sides of their mouths!
Also, if you missed it, he authorized 17,000 troops into Afghanistan, and Sen. McCain wants to know “what is the strategy? What is the exit strategy? Hhhmmm….
And did you see Burris’s latest admission– “Yes, I did some Blago fundraising!”… now the jr. Senator from Illinois is under “CRIMINAL” Investigation.

JAMES,
About the cigarette issue, I call HYPOCRITES, plain and simple.
When everyone quits smoking, will they raise the taxes on something else?
I’m going to invent a contraption that all Americans will have to wear that will monitor how much air you breath, so that can be taxed.
Darn, I just let the cat out of the bag.
Anyone know that site where you can obtain a patent for a new idea?
And I say send in 50,000 more troops and get the job done. These fine Americans have been away from their families for way too long, and they deserve to have an “end time” and be allowed to get the job done quickly. Obama’s problem is, that he doesn’t have any idea how to use these troops. He has peed off the Generals who should be setting the strategy. Kind of like the Gitmo thing.
Obama thinks he can set the agenda, and he can, but he has to do it responsibly. Making off the cuff decisions, without thinking about the ramifications, like he did about Gitmo, is irresponsible.
And yes, I heard Burris saying that he welcomes an investigation. That means he is in deep doo doo. I would like to know why I am not seeing this 24/7 like we did about Senator Craig who brushed the foot of the man in the stall next to him at that airport. Does MSNBC not know that to be “The place for politics” you should be reporting the news on politics? I’d like to say I feel sorry for the folks who only watch MSNBC, but I can’t, they are simply ignorant people who know better, but choose to get their slanted news from those who could care less about the viewers, and more about getting those “tingling” feelings up their leg.
Olberman thinks Bush is still President, and can’t get over him or Cheney, and Maddow simply spews hate about anything the Republicans do.
Burris’ day is coming. At least I hope his day is coming.

The troop increase was in response to a request by the General there, who has asked for 30,000 troops. The President needs ask the General what the game-plan is, and instead of doing a “surge” two years from nbow, let’s get in there and handle it correctly. Remember, had we followed through with the requests in “Charlie Wilson’s War”, the last 25 years may have been completely different.
If you see the cover of NEWSWEEK (I think), it is calling Afghanistan Obama’s Vietnam!!

JAMES,
I hate the Vietnam reference.
Anyone who knows what happened in Vietnam knows that the only reason we had to withdrawl was because the Congress cut off funding for the war.
The Democrats started the war, Johnson increased troop size and escalated the war, and when Nixon got in, he had a plan to win the war, but the Dems wouldn’t fund it, so he pulled out.
That is a sad time in US History, and I’d rather not repeat that.

No we don’t want to repeat Vietnam. Not having read the article yet, knowing the fawning media, I would venture to suggest that it might be denegrating George W. Bush, and feeling symapthy for Obama having to deal with it. Just a thought.
