U.S. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsberg, one of the liberal voices on the bench, has announced that she hhas been diagnosed with the pancreatic cancer, said to be in its early stages. This is the same form of cancer that actor Patrick Swayze has been battling since last spring.
It has been said that President Obama will most likely have the opportunity to fill several seats on the Court during the next few years, and presumably the first he would have to fill would be that of Justice Stevens, who is 88. Stevens was appointed to the Court 34 years ago by President Ford.
Justice Ginsberg, 75, was appointed to the bench 16 years ago by President Bill Clinton.
The balance of the Court may soon begin to lean to far to the left!
