It does not matter whether or not you have children in school, public or private. We all have a stake in our school sysytem, and if we fail to pay attention to what has already happened, and what is happening now in our schools, we will all pay the consequences, primarily in the indoctrination to forsake our God given liberties.
The follwoing was found on a blog site. I urge all to make it a point to check out the schools in your area. This needs to be publicized if it is not an isolated case:
This Is Very Disturbing!
My son, who is in 1st grade, came home yesterday saying that he didn’t want to go back to school anymore. So I asked him why? He said that during the Pledge of Allegiance the teacher put up a large image of Obama next to the flag. I asked him if he was sure of this and I suggested to him that maybe the teacher just put up an 8×10 photo of the president. He said, “No, it is a large picture of Obama and when we are done Ms. **** turns off the image.” I also asked if they did this for Bush last year? He again said, “No.” This was my sons first day back to school since before Christmas, he was on a 5 week track break.
My wife volunteers a couple of days each week with helping out with my sons teacher doing various duties. She said that she would come in early this morning to see what was going on. She just got back and reported that this was true and then some. She said she waited out in the pod area and could see inside 3 of the 5 class rooms in this section of school. She said that when the kids stand each teacher flips on the classroom overhead and a full body image of Obama, with six U.S. flags behind him, comes up about 4 feet away from the flag that hangs on the wall. She said that the image has Obama staring straight at you with no facial expressions, just a serious look. I asked my wife if Obama had his hand over his heart? She said that she was so taken aback by this that she didn’t see it. What is worse is she said that all of the kids in each class faced Obama instead of the flag that hangs in the corner.
What the heck is going on?
Guys and gals, I need some advise on how to approach this. I can be somewhat hot headed so I need to plan accordingly with what to say to the principal when we go in to inquire about this. I am sure I will be brushed off so what is my next step? Obviously it will be the school district but then who? ACLU, Veteran groups, Christian groups? Who would be interested in this vile activity?
This is happening in the Clark County School District here in Las Vegas, Henderson area

I thought it was freaky when I saw the kids on Jesus Camp praying to a carboard cutout of Bush, so I’d be a hypocrite if I didn’t find it equally as creepy if they were pledging allegiance to Obama.
I think carboard cutouts are the problem. They’re creepy.

JAMES,
I am finding it hard to believe that this could happen.
If it is happening, then there needs to be something done about it.
I am not against teaching political philosophies in schools as long as the teachers educate, and not indoctrinate our kids.
First graders learning that we are basically pledging allegiance to a politician and not the symbol of our freedom is unbelievable.
I’m surprised the Democrats haven’t suggested that we start naming streets and buildings after Obama yet.
Maybe I commented too soon. A national holiday for Obama will be in the works before it’s all over.
What a crock.

Stothes,
I’d like a cardboard cutout of Jennifer Aniston.
Or maybe a young Valerie Bertinelli.
Or a Farrah Fawcett from her Charlie’s Angels days.
But now I’m just dreaming.

LMAO. I think AllPosters.com could accomodate your request.
Just please don’t make young children worship it!

(D)oomed to Fail
Your description of your son’s classroom doesn’t really surprise me. We are the epitome of hypocrisy. We go through the motions of having our president place his hand on the bible to take the oath of office and then we as the American public are forced to watch as our “elected” officials work as quickly as possible to remove GOD from the American conscience. And we wonder why everything is going to heck in a hand basket. After looking at some of the more ridiculous line items in the “stimulous package” and with large amounts of funding going to just about every special interest group that dems hold near and dear to their heart, the channeling of our youth toward paying reverence and homage to the “chairman” really plays right into the hands of the NEA and the special interest that our education system truly is. My approach would be to inquire as to the intent of the display and try to be as politically correct as possible in ferreting out a response…if that fails and you choke someone know that you have friends that empathize. My biggest complaint is that our schools just can’t remain objective in how they educate our children. If they would stick to the elementary subjects and leave their twisted socialistic opinions at the door at least we might end up with enough rationally thinking young adults that will be able to make informed decisions. If not I fear that we are creating a flock of followers that read a stimulus package and can’t see the trees from the forest. No matter how you approach it my guess is that you will be tagged a whining conservative that just needs to get with the program. Since most administrators are NEA goose-stepping, spineless, flip floppers don’t expect any sympathy or reprimand to a teacher. Teach your son about your values and what is important to you and why. Those of us that consider ourselves normal, rational thinking parents have to work twice as hard at home to educate our children if we even have a prayer at nipping the social and educational brainwashing in the bud. Good Luck.
