The former Maryland Lt. Governor Michael Steele has been named as a possible contender for the Chairmanship of the Republican National Committee. Although not stated by Steele himself, his associates have confirmed that Steele is pursuing this position.

An outspoken commentator on FOXNews, Michael Steele offers unbiased yet conservative viewpoints in a professional and eloquent manner. Steele is presently the GOPAC chairman with the RNC, and sources say that the race for the RNC Chair position is being brokered somewhat behind the scenes between Steele and Speaker Newt Gingrich.

Political strategist Ryan Gravatt said that Steele’s style and appeal was such that he would be able to bring together all sides of the Party, and perhaps even draw some away from the Democratic base. “I think Michael Steele is the best chance the party has right now for rebuilding and bringing a bigger tent,” Gravatt said.
